My son's jaw was broken in multiple places after a baseball injury. We found Dr. Al Shetawi after being treated very badly at Westchester Medical Center Emergency Department. This doctor is kind, knowledgeable and very compassionate. He saw my son on an emergency basis and cleared his schedule to arrange for the required surgery. His Nurse Practioner Holly is amazing as well. She reached out and assured us they would be taking the best care of my son. Explained all aspects of what was going to happen and made sure my son was well informed.

Dr. Al Shetawi did a small procedure on my face this month at Vassar Bros. Hospital (all went well). I just want to express my gratitude to Dr. Al Shetawi, and especially to his staff, and the staff on the 4th floor in Bldg. E. They were fantastic. Prior to the surgery, all calls that they said I would receive, I received on schedule, and the caller was considerate, but on point. I had to call back once or twice, and they sounded glad to hear from me.....just friendly and helpful. I can't say enough about the 4th Floor staff where the procedure was performed.....professional, friendly, funny, efficient. I especially would like to thank the nurses who helped me with the changing COVID rules about testing, etc. I had my doubts about how I would be treated by a big HMO (NuVance Health), but not any more. The entire experience was great. Thanks.

I was admitted to Vassar Brothers Hospital onJuly 26th as a result of an accident at home. On July 27th, Dr. Al Shetawi came to see me to look at my facial fracture and explain what had to be done. Apparently, I had a brief conversation with him but unfortunately, from being stressed and possibly still in shock I don't remember the incident. The person who was with me did tell me what transpired with the doctor. On August 8th, I met with Dr. Shetawi whom explained to us what the injuries were and what had to be done. I will admit we had many questions to ask and D. Shetawi took the time necessary to answer all my questions about the surgery, showing me X-rays, titanium plates needed and positive/ negative outcomes. I did not feel rushed but was given all the time to understand my situation. We were both so pleased with his experience, pleasantness, and detailed information I made up my mind he would do the surgery. I am very pleased with the outcome of the surgery on my face.
