Dr. Allandale Yap, DO

Was kind of rude as when I told him I needed special accommodations for testing, he told me that I was lying. He was right, but still you can't say stuff like that. I needed the extra edge badly to get in law school.

I don't like Kaiser but Dr. Yap was a breath of fresh air. I actually feel like he listened to what I was saying and sympathized instead of just throwing some meds at me and making me feel like I was in a mill as I usually do with Kaiser...

Dr. Yap belittled me during my visit with him. I told him about my GI symptoms that had been going on for two years, which were severe. He commented that since I had anxiety, my GI issues were severe. He made the analogy, 'Did the chicken or egg come first?' I told him that my GI issues worsened my anxiety, but he didn't listen and told me I needed to see a psychologist. I asked him if he would write me a letter to WFH, but he refused because he said I would still have symptoms at home, and it did not matter if I was uncomfortable at work. I told him I avoided eating at work since I feared my GI symptoms. Overall, he was dismissive and did not care about me. He acted like I was overreacting. I went to another doctor a couple of months later, and they finally diagnosed me with severe constipation and SIBO. I have been in so much pain, and Dr. Yap, like many other doctors, told me to 'Drink more Water.' Instead of tackling the issue, he told me to get on anxiety/ depression medication.

I love Dr. Yap. He is a kind and patient man and genuinely cares about your health and well-being. He has a lovely demeanor and an excellent bedside manner. He is smart and effective, he gets things done. Dr. Yap is true blue, I wish they could all be like him.
