Lacks empathy and was rude
This man made me feel like I was only after pain meds. I was having extreme pain in my knee and he acted like I was lying and overreacting. After I saw another doctor, I got the correct diagnosis and had surgery. I left Hershey's office in tears. Horrible experience!

My hip replacement surgery was on July 10, 2019. Two weeks after surgery I was walking without a cane or walker, with no pain. Dr. Hershey did my other hip 12 years ago and was able to match both my legs in length. His office recommended the right PT person for me, who has helped move at my recovery speed.

Dr. Hershey is the very best. He is attentive and most of all very efficient. Had a total hip replacement and had exactly one week of pain. I had lived with pain for two years before seeking out Dr. Hershey for help. I cannot praise him enough. I know that I am going to have to have the other hip done in the future and I will not have anyone but Dr. Hershey do it for me .

I had knee replacement surgery on my right knee two years ago. Dr. Hershey is great, what i liked the most was he took the time to explain all details of the surgery and recovery. He is very easy to talk too, he answered all my questions and concerns i had. Its been two years since my surgery and i feel great, I am about o have surgery on my left knee in June. I would definitely recommend Dr. Hershey to family and friends.

Dr. Hershey performed my hip surgery as assigned by SVMH in emergency situation. I could have not been placed in better care. He explained my options in laymen terms I could understand and took precautions prior to my surgery. I am on the right path to my recovery. I highly recommend the services of Dr Hershey and his staff.

Dr Hershey performed a delicate rod and pin hip surgery which required a 3-month stay at Eden Valley Rehab with no weight bearing and months of outpatient physical therapy after I returned home. My follow-up care with Dr. Hershey was excellent. His interactions with me were positive. He is kind and easy to talk to. I would strongly recommend him to anyone needing orthopedic care Carole Le Brun

I had knee joint replacement on July 30th and almost 4 weeks later I was already walking without a cane. I'm almost 6 weeks now and I'm doing great. I will be going back to Dr Hershey soon to look into my other knee and will definately have him do my other knee if needed. I am very happy with my overall experience and most important the outcome so far.

I have been to a lot of other doctors about my hip without any results and when I saw doctor Hershey, he was compassionate and listened to me when others didn't. After six months of horrible pain, I had a hip replacement from doctor Hershey and am now walking pain-free. I would highly recommend him to anyone thinking of having a joint replacement.

Dr. Hershey was recommended to me by a friend. I need both knees replaced. I have severe osteoarthritis, plus my right leg has been very crooked since birth. (My rheumatologist said he didn't know how I was able to walk.) Dr. Hershey did my right knee June 5 and for the first time in my life I have two straight legs! He did a wonderful job and my knee felt steady from the start. Recovery and rehab were not bad at all. Dr. Hershey will do my other knee some time soon.He is GREAT!

I had full hip replacement on my right side. Anterior approach minimally invasive surgery. Walked down the hall very first day. Dr Hershey was great, explained everything. Went home after two days. Walked around house 1/4 mile each day for a week. Next week walked outside everyday for 1/2 mile. No more pain.

I have been a patient of Dr. Hershey's since 2014. I had knee replacement Aug. 2016. The thing I appreciate about him is his honesty in what you need to do as a patient to get the best results for yourself. Great pre-surgery classes were provided, however what amazed me were the people who had no intention of doing what they needed to do. So easy to blame the doctor for your own laziness. I had terrific results a long with an unexpected surgery on my left knee. Dr. Hershey is the BEST!!!

I just finished recuperating from my second hip replacement by Dr. Hershey in the last two years. I would highly recommend him. Both times I had the minimally invasive anterior approach. I was home in two days, no pain medication needed but extra strength tylenol. At four weeks absolutely no pain, very little stiffness.

Not sure If I would recommend Dr. Hershey to anyone . He was unable to clearly provide a diagnosis of my knee condition despite, having an MRI report handy. I am left with an unclear diagnosis and will have to go for a second opinion.

Dr. Hershey replaced my knee. He was kind, attentive, thourough and efficient. His surgical skill is obvious in that I was walking the following day...using the restroom, able to shower and could walk the halls on the day after surgery. He checked on me personally every day, including Saturday. I confidently and highly recommend Dr. Hershey!

Dr. Hershey repaired my bilateral wrist fractures after a traumatic motorcycle incident. I felt completely at ease and safe going into surgery, and after. At a time when I was scared of what my outcome would be he was there to remind me how well I was doing given the severity of my injuries. I could tell he was very invested in my progress and my recovery as a whole. He is reassuring, calm, attentive, and easy to communicate with. I highly recommend him to anyone seeking an orthopedic doctor.

Dr. Hershey did a knee replacement for me and I couldn't be happier with the results. Dr. Hershey also replaced both of my sister's hips and again could not be happier. He is kind and considerate and really makes you feel that he cares about your progress as a person. I would recommend Dr. Hershey to anyone that is having problems with any kind of orthopedic pain.
