Dr. Allison Couture, DO

I met her when I was hospitalized following an accident. I had never met her before and was transitioning from another provider to UW. She was part of the family medicine 'team'. She was rude, condescending, brusk, overall nasty. She stood over me (while I was in a hospital gown, back open to the breeze, vulnerable), arms folded across her chest, and told me what she wanted to do to me. She was very much the drama queen, sporting a white cosmetic streak down the side of her long dark hair, as if she was on stage. There was no discussion, no time for questions or answers. Only mandates. I politely declined her assessment, got myself discharged and FLED from her presence. After my encounter with her and her 'team', I checked my insurance coverage and found a people oriented provider and transitioned to them. UW is a research and teaching facility that is more inclined to work with students than listen to people. She has no business being in health care working with people.

Your visit should not be a worry. She has a way about her that can get to the root of your problem. All you have to do is relax and be honest and informative and let her wonderfully do her job.
