Dr. Alonzo Sexton II, MD

I had the pleasure of seeing Dr. Alonzo Sexton today. He was patient and informative as he explained my diagnosis. He ensured that I understood what was going on and the treatment options I had available. I did not feel rushed; more importantly, I felt heard! I would recommend this highly skilled physician.

Has a great sense of humor and was very efficient. He was also very professional.

I had a very positive experience with my care with Dr. Sexton. He's very knowledgeable and compassionate about his craft. My injury required surgery in which Dr. Sexton performed at Piedmont Henry Hospital. That experience was great as well. The office staff was awesome as well. I witnessed nothing but positive attitude and attentiveness with my care. I made several comments about how they all seemed happy to be at work several times. Very good comprehensive doctor they listen to your concerns very carefully and give you your time they not rushing the staff are great very good service and attention very professional and the facility is very very clean ! Highly recommended!!

Got an appointment incredibly quickly, he took care of my very swollen knee and took fluid off it and cortisone and steroid shot, I am very grateful for some relief of the incredible pain i was in.

Shoulder Surgery: I was in so much pain due to an injury and heartbreak from the death of my daughter. Dr. Alonzo Sexton, helped me in so many ways, words alone can not express how blessed I am to have had him as my Orthopedic Surgeon. He gave me step by step instructions. He asked if I had questions. He was very caring during this trying time and did a wonderful surgery! The entire staff was very professional, and caring especially Matthew. It’s been a process and I know that things are going to be better! Wish Dr. Sexton was still there. As of March 2021 he is no longer with this group. Miss him dearly, he is truly a great Doctor!

I brought my 13 year old son in to have a knee injury checked out. From the first appointment to the MRI appointment to his follow up this morning, all staff has been very pleasant, efficient and kind. Matthew was awesome and Dr. Sexton is great as well. Very thorough and efficient. Highly recommend his practice.

Dr. Sexton is an incredibly smart and attentive doctor. I came to him with a bum shoulder after years and years of competitive swimming. My shoulder had gotten to the point we are in I couldn’t do all of the things I love like working out pull ups swimming push-ups. I finally decided that it was time for me to get some help and really look into fixing my shoulder. I have a friend in the Atlanta area who owns a number of physical therapy Clinics who recommended Dr. Sexton because he spent a number of years working as surgeon for the University of Georgia swimming team and was one of the best shoulder specialist in the area. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect going into the initial visit but Dr. Sexton brought an incredible wealth of experience and calm which made me feel very good about selecting him to perform my surgery. Fast forward 11 months from the date of my surgery and I am doing great, I’m working out five times a week and doing all of the things I love.

I was a patient of Dr Sexton when he practiced in Athens. I had 2 successful surgeries in Athens and when I needed 2 other surgeries, I followed Dr Sexton to Atlanta. He is an excellent surgeon and his bedside manor is phenomenal! He is very caring and compassionate, and listens to your needs. You never feel rushed at an appointment and you never have to wait long to see him. His office staff is great! I would highly recommend Dr Sexton as my orthopedic surgeon!

Dr. Sexton has been my orthopedic for 10 years now. You will not find a better one.

"A half truth is a whole lie." Sexton did not lay out the entire broad spectrum for surgical results, and I received the worst possible after-affects, which have effectively destroyed life as I knew it. His thinking: He didn't want to scare me! Now, almost two years later, I have less function than before surgery with seemingly no way out of it except for more surgery, which may or may not do any good. NO THANK YOU!
