Dr Skopic is very thorough..after months of reoccurring lung infections antibiotics and steroids without getting better. A CT scan was ordered, it was Dr Skopic who caught the esophageal hernia and referred me right away to a surgeon. The surgery was successful thanks to Dr Skopic for catching it early!

Office staff
Dr S. is a great doctor. SOMETHING NEEDS to be done with the way the staff handles the patients and anything that they are there for because they don’t care about the patients and that’s how they get paid

Don't waste your money
I had eaten very spicy food and had a temporary case of acid reflux. After a 10 minute appointment with Dr. Skopic, I was told I needed an endoscopy and colonoscopy. Took OTC medication and was better within a few days.

Could only see APRN
I was advised that Dr Skopic was not seeing patients because he was too busy doing procedures. I saw the APRN, and I didn’t feel my concerns were addressed or cared about. More time was spent going over how much the colonoscopy prep would cost, and how he has to send it to a pharmacy in NY. Unwilling to send the prescription to my own pharmacy. I had heard wonderful things about Dr Skopic and feel if I saw him it might have gone differently. I will not be staying with this practice.

Dr. Skopic is very conscientious and professional but I will be seeking a different practice due to the irresponsible and unprofessional office staff that never returned calls from me nor from my pharmacist after they had sent the wrong prep kit for a routine colonoscopy. Due to their inattention and incompetence my pharmacy could not get the insurance preauthorization needed for the prescription, even after my pharmacist repeatedly called and faxed requests to their office, and they never once returned my calls even though I left voicemails regarding the situation. My poor pharmacist had to cobble together prep materials with the ambiguous instructions provided and the whole experience was a nightmare. To add insult to injury they gave the surgery center the wrong contact information for my spouse and now I am receiving bills from labs etc. because they gave them the wrong insurance information. Having a great doctor isn't worth much if the staff make it a living hell to get exams

Dr. Skopic is literally the best GI ever. His staff are always pleasant and kinds. I went years with a different doctor and never had answers. Dr. Skopic had answers within a week or 2 as to what was actually going on with me. His APRN Kristin is great too. She works well with Dr. Skopic and is very knowledgeable too. I never have waited longer than an hour or so to hear from them.

Staff was very rude and unpleasant, front desk laughed when I had a question regarding a 175$ bill for a consult. Which might I add, Dr. Skopic came in spoke to me for 5 minutes and had me scheduled for an endoscopy within days. Could hardly understand him. I paid 175$ for a procedure I don't need. Waste of time and money! If you have acid reflux look for natural remedies and forget about this guy!

I was referred to Dr Skopic by my PCP,from the initial call from the office(which came before I even left my PCP)to meeting the staff and the doc was a wonderful experience. As nervous and sick as I was feeling between the doctor himself and the great staff I felt so very comfortable. That just shows how thorough the office is run.The staff was very friendly and the doctor spent a lot of time not only listening but also helping diagnose my problems. I was able to get an apt that wk for testing

The office is terrible about returning calls. Both my husband and I have never gotten calls with the results of biopsies, as promised.( 3-4 times) We were told the "Dr would call" nobody called, not even a secretary. The overall patient dealing is poor. The Doctor didn't even come talk to my husband after his last procedure. We waited an hour afterward. The nurse finally told us to go ahead and leave.???? plan for at least three hours if you use his dr.

I am in CT for school but my gastro doctor is in NY. When I saw doctor Skopic in the hospital, he kept insisting that I go on humira and wanted to proceed with an invasive procedure even though my doctor at home told him that we didn't need to do anything invasive. He kept cutting my mom off while she was asking questions. I had a follow up appointment with him at his office, I was surprised at how outdated the equipment was.. They couldn't even run my credit card at the office

Rude staff. Got a colonoscopy and endoscopy with no follow ups. It's been over two years and now I am going to another doctor for the same problems. Never go here. Hard to get an appointment to be rechecked. He said there is no need to go back. Never explained my results either

First of all, the staff is extremely rude and constantly bickering and making fun of patients who call on the phone. They have a terrible attitude but you can't blame them seeing as who they work with! Dr. Skopic is hard to understand and ALWAYS late for his appointments. If you have an appointment for 330 be prepared to wait until 4-430 for him to even arrive! On top of that he is short with his patients and barely explains what's going on!

He is hard to understand, talked very fast and talked in circles around himself. I recorded our office visits and no one could understand what was being said. there was no follow up to my appointments, just a good luck. . . well I'm in pain and bleeding so there needs to be some answers. I had my primary dr call and he prescribed medicine to her to give to me but when I was in the office the day before, he said there was nothing to do. I feel blown off and disrespected.
