Dr. Amina Qazi, DO

Dr. Qazi was aware when my appointment was booked that I was a transgender patient, and yet, for some reason, she spent my entire visit trying pretty vehemently to convince me not to transition at all because the thought of my vascular system changing at all stressed her out. I spent my visit trying to explain to her over and over again that I am well aware of the risks and have had comprehensive discussions with the other medical professionals working with me on my transition, saying over and over again that the point of me seeing her through this was to monitor my heart health and prescribe medication if needed. She continued to double down and insist that I didn’t know what I was getting into and to simply not go through with it. Completely unprofessional. Additionally, she sent me home with a blood pressure cuff and a chart with zero instructions past “check it maybe three times a week”. When I asked her how to use it, she remarked “anyone can figure it out.”

Dr. Qazi asked questions and reviewed my information. She explained my condition and my options and also scheduled a follow-up. She is easy to talk with. I so appreciated my visit with her.

One of the best doctors I have dealt with. As I said, frank, earnest and attentive. Listened to what I had to say and gave me her honest and objective opinion.

She was so easy to talk with and I felt like she was really listening to me.

Dr Quazi ALWAYS addresses my questions and concerns with true respect and caring. I trust her advice implicitly.

I have confidence and trust in Dr. Qazi. She asked me questions and listened to understand my history and my concerns. She communicated clearly and thoroughly with her recommendations and answers to my questions, providing context such as data from my test results. She was very reassuring and clear on next steps.

I have had blood pressure issues for years and can’t get them under control. I waited over FIVE months for a first appointment with this cardiologist. Three days before the appointment I received a phone call stating I have been rescheduled due to Dr Qazi having to take on someone else’s patients. The reschedule, pushed from August to January. ANOTHER FIVE MONTHS. Healthcare in Maine is pathetic at best.

I was told when I got there that I didn’t have the right day and time. If that was true why did I receive this review. I never signed in. I believe the office made this error. Dr Qazi is a great cardiologist. I travelled 200 miles for nothing.

Dr. Qazi has been my cardiologist for several years and she is unfailingly professional, extremely knowledgeable, compassionate, super intelligent, and has the best bedside manner of any doctor I've known. I can't recommend her highly enough.
