Dr. Amir Jazaeri, MD

I came to MD Anderson to get see another gynecological oncologist. However, due to scheduling was assigned to Dr. Jazaeri. It worked well because he was a great doctor known to be rising in this field. He is excellent gynecological oncologist , I was very happy with my visit and my procedures. he is very friendly.

My mom initially came to MD Anderson to see another gynecological oncologist. However, due to scheduling was assigned to Dr. Jazaeri. It worked well because he was a great doctor known to be rising in this field. He was very attentive. My mom’s surgery went well and maintenance was always well coordinated over her cancer battle. She was even in trials. She had great years following her surgery and the chemo was not too bad for her. The only issues was management of digestive issues. In the last year of her life she had some info that the cancer was returning. However it was still managed. During COVID, follow-up appointments were different. Based on labs/scans in one follow up she was asked whether she chose to continue the maintenance or take a break since she was doing so well. She took a break and I thought that Dr. Jazaeri made a bad clinical decision. However, after analysis of labs it appears it was also a combo of not having correct testing. She passed away after the next appt.

Dr.Jazaeri was like family to us. When my wife's ovarian cancer returned, he spent 13 hours in surgery with her. I can't say enough good things about this man. He is caring, and doesn't just give up. He listens, and explains things in terms that the average person can understand.
