I went in with a scalp condition that was driving me crazy with itch and flakes. He had my scalp better within 3 days and has continued to keep it in good condition. He is very caring and makes you feel very comfortable, and his staff is awesome also. I recommend Dr. Patel highly and pray he will stay with us in Victoria.

First Visit
Very friendly Dr. Patel and staff. Taken right in at appointment time and thoroughly examined in a very timely manner. He went above and beyond what I originally went in for. Look forward to his expertise in the future. Also liked visiting his office in Port Arthur rather than fighting the traffic in Beaumont.

Great Visit – Aug 28, 2024

Unprofessional lazy and not thorough Doctor
I had a terrible visit. He really didn’t try to get to the bottom of what was going on with me. Sorry to say, but somebody needs to know he kept taking a biopsy from my arm or I could clean whatever was getting on me off never got a microscope out really did not care to help me Lazy also after I complain because I was wasting my money getting biopsies with several doctors he then after I complained did another biopsy because they talked me into going there and I trusted them thinking they would help me. He did such a deep biopsy. I bled a lot so much that I had to freeze it to stop the bleeding , I bet they didn’t write that in my medical records of course so if you go there with the skin condition, be aware especially if you’re a nice person, the nicer you are the more hateful. They are, of course goes to say for years in pioneers be aware of the money you’re going to lose.

I started going to him several years ago and every time I went he would biopsy one or two moles on my back. I never got results from those biopsies. I went to have a cyst removed from the back of my head that had been growing for years and he seemed to rush through it and all he could say was that he studied with Dr Pimple Popper. All I could think was she didn’t pass any bedside manner on to you! When I originally made the appointment to have the cyst removed it was canceled , then rescheduled because everyone in the office had the Flu. Then when they finally came back it was beginning of November and wanted to schedule me for January and I said absolutely not because then I have to start a whole new deductible and cannot afford that. They continently found an appointment available the next week that had just popped up. I had the cyst removed, went back for my follow up to have the stitches removed and never went back again! Horrible bedside manner!!!

I do not trust this provider
I began to feel uneasy about half way through the appointment. He discovered I did not fully trust or feel comfortable using antibiotics, so he suggested he might put me in a hospital with drip antibiotics! It seemed to me that he was actually looking forward to Making me me uncomfortable. He also suggested I should follow his instructions even if they were not recommended.

****DO NOT MAKE THE MISTAKE ****
The office is lacking adequate-knowledgeable staff. Had an issue with a certain employee that was overheard by Dr so he quickly pulled me into a room to lecture me for 30+ minutes on how he’s trying to get a hold of his staff and straighten them out…he admitted they were overworked and one particular girl was doing 3 different jobs, (scheduling, in take and insurance billing), and she is a nurses assistant. He admitted that he was looking to hire properly trained and knowledgeable staff but at next visit it was clear that he still has yet to find proper help. Would not waste time here-there are plenty of local Dermatologists in the area with 3+ stars!!! Hope this helps someone save some time, money and STRESS!!!

Worst experience ever with a doctor!
I saw Dr Patel in 2020 after having fiberglass embedded in my face from a car accident. He told me without even examining my skin that I didn't have fiberglass in my face. Then asked who my PCP was and have I been under some stress? I couldn't believe what I had heard and left speechless and in tears with a prescription for some hydrocortisone cream and told to return in a month and I would be healed! Needless to say, his cream did absolutely nothing but prolong my suffering! After being correctly diagnosed by another doctor, it took two years and multiple chemical peels before I was fiberglass free. I feel obligated to post this review in hopes it may spare others from a similar experience as mine.

Absolutely atrocious front desk and scheduling. I scheduled an appointment back in July to get a small cyst removed from my head informing the office that I will be leaving the country in October indefinitely and I needed to get it done before I leave. So I show up on Aug 9 for my appointment time and I am informed that the office is closed due to employees having covid and the employees are unaware of my apt even being in the schedule saying this was a previsit?? Nobody called or informed me about this and that was never the agreement to do a previsit for such a simple procedure as I had no time to come back. So they rescheduled me for Sept 6 which is Labor Day and of course they're closed on Labor Day. Absolute morons!!! Then despite the fact that these people knew I would be leaving in October, they inform me that they cannot get me in until late Oct way after I'm to leave the country... Absolutely unconscionable incompetence. -100 stars....now I won't be able to get treatment

Over a month ago I called to make an appointment, spoke to someone in office. They took my insurance since I didn’t know if it required a referral or not, they looked it up. When they were done they booked an appointment. Now today, over a month later, I go to my appointment that’s over 40 minutes from my house. I set there for 45 minutes before they told me I required a referral and that if I wanted to be seen it would be 225 dollars. I told the lady that I hadn’t been told I needed one and that they took my insurance over the phone before I booked the appointment, she just kept saying that it must have been the call center because it wasn’t her. I had waited over a month for an appointment that I honestly really needed.
