I was shocked to hear that Dr. Sohagia had left. I know he was forced to make a difficult decision for his own good and I think that’s acceptable for a doctor who has given so much to his patients and cared so much for them, to finally think about what is best for himself. But it’s a shame that he had to make this decision in the first place and I feel like the network should have done everything to hold onto Dr. Sohagia. He was the first doctor who did anything medically to help me lose a lot of weight. I was over 300 pounds at my highest weight, 287 pounds when Dr. Sohagia put me on a couple of medications and I got below 200 for a while on the medications. I switched to different medications about a year later and have lost even more weight, getting closer to a normal weight. Dr. Sohagia was the first person to do anything to truly help me lose a good amount of weight. All my other doctors just advised me to lose weight as if I could beat food addiction by willpower alone.

Excellent, superb. Caring.
I am deeply saddened by the loss of Dr. Amit B. Sohagia from St. Luke’s Practice. He was a fantastic Doctor, the best. He was forced out of this practice. My husband and I are hattered by losing such a kind, caring, Doctor. It’s a great loss to us. Dr. Sohagia is at another practice over an hour away. St.Lukes has made it so when someone leaves or should I forced out, they CANNOT practice in the same are. Dr. Sohagia was here such a long, long time.

I feel that he saved my life. Before I went to Dr Sohagia I was nearly housebound with gastrointestinal problems. Because he listen to what I had to say and we tried different options, I am now able to go anywhere with the help of the correct medication. I have referred him to all of my friends, and they also feel the same way towards him.
