Dr. Amita Sharma, MD

Doesn't respond to calls or emails. Unreliable. Concerned with billing only.

DO NOT go to Dr. Sharma. This doctor's practice seems to be most concerned with what they can bill the insurance (or patient) for and are less concerned with actual patient care. My family member sought out Dr. Sharma as a primary care physician in December 2022 when my family member's previous physician retired. A call was placed to the office to confirm Dr. Sharma was accepting new patients. Once it was confirmed that Dr. Sharma was accepting new patients, my family member requested a wellness visit to start the relationship with Dr. Sharma. My family member was asked to fill out some preliminary paperwork and submit it online to start the process. After the paperwork was submitted, the office called my family member to review the paperwork. The insurance was billed $500 for that phone call. At no time was my family member made aware this was a billable appointment. When my family member tried to resolve this with the office, the response was "Why would you think you wouldn't be char

You are probably better off treating yourself using remedies from an internet search than going to this practitioner and her staff. The staff was extremely rude and un co-operative for 3 years. She was never able to cure me of anything and never gave any useful recommendations, prescriptions etc. Once, due to her negligence i.e. not treating me in time for my severe cough/bacterial infection, I had to run to the ER to get I.V drip + oxygen as I wasn't able to breathe properly. The ER doctors were shocked at how my infection had been handled so far and would have been much under control with simple medications given during week1 of my sickness. I thankfully changed my provider and I am very happy now.

Two years with her and nothing but issues, most of her office staff do not know how to give instructions or any important information. I call both offices several times and leave voicemails. this happens a lot and I get no call back. I do not recommend.

Don't do it. Made the appt a month ahead, it was supposed to be a first time physical, got 2 confirmation calls because after they confirmed the time I scheduled they insisted on moving me 5 hours later, why? Because someone who didn't have medi-cal wanted my appt slot. I sat in the room waiting for 20 min before being seen, she wouldn't hear my concerns because she was rushed. She told me she had been in there for an hour, when I tried to rebut she told me she wouldn't have this argument with me. At the end of the appt she was by the door before I got up from my physical exam and asked if she could go to her next patient, I said "I guess I don't have a choice" since she had already told me she couldn't hear my list of concerns unless they were "quick." She then asked, "can you just make this easy for me?" They rushed me out of the room and then when I received my papsmear results, it said "CANCELED" all the way down. Extremely unprofessional and rude to her patients, comes 20 minutes late to her appointment and then has the gall to not let you talk with her about concerns you have because she was late and Does tests and then cancels the test so that you cant even see the results. Save yourself the trouble and get a better doctor, how this woman still has her license with the way she treats patients I have no idea.

My first visit was good. Trying to get another apptmt 2 months later is not happening. None available for a month..wait or go to ER. Communication poor. How about a referral? Requested by phone and my chart. Ignored.

Horrible doctors horrible office they called me names that I cannot repeat because I was trying to ask some questions about my disability

Horrible service. Does not put the care of the patient first. This is the worst experience I have ever had with a physician. Very unprofessional. I get that it is a covid outbreak but do your job and treat your sick patients. She did not offer any options to address my illness. I will now have to go to ER.

I have been a patient of Dr.Sharma since 2009.I absolutely love her.Dr. Sharma is so compassionate,Caring, loving and is the very best doctor that anyone could ask for.If your lucky enough to be able to have the opportunity to have her as your doctor you will not be disappointed.Not only is she all the above but she makes you feel like you are the only patient that she has to see for the day.She doesn't rush in the exam room,she listens to your concerns and explains things.
