Dr. Amy Hix, MD

Dr Hix and her staff are amazing. Scheduling an appointment was effortless, and there was no waiting when I arrived for my appointment.The staff are all remarkable and personable. The care I received was second to none. I highly recommend Dr. Hix and her entire practice to anyone who is looking for a caring and devoted physician and staff!

She asked about how I feel, how things are going.. She makes it feel like she hears me.I have depression and anxiety so this is important. She helps with the meds and refills and up to date other stuff too. And alway with a smile and a sense of humor..

Not only is Amy a top-notch physician, she is a very friendly and helpful doctor, who gets me in and out quickly. She makes going to the doctor a little less stressful. And her team are excellent at what they do, from taking my blood pressure to billing me. I'll have her as a doctor as long as she practices.

My mom was in the hospital and Dr Hix supposedly saw her three times. She has found a way to bill patients where they have a copay directly to her. We received a bill for $105 separate from the hospital bill. She is not a specialist she deals in general family practice. The copay on our insurance is for a specialist and she is far from that. It’s sad to know that everything is about more money. She should not be able to bill this way. Of all the times in the hospital, this is the first time to ever receive a bill for copays. If she has to go to the hospital again, I will request that Dr Hix not be her physician or I will take her to a different hospital.

The staff and nurses were amazing. Dr. Hix was not! She was so disrespectful and un empathetic to me and unwilling to help in any way. Not to mention the rudeness and saying I don’t know what you want from me I was like care help me find out what’s wrong all I got was I don’t know what to do for you and dismissed me like I was nothing I ended up walking out in tears!!

I love Dr. Hix and her staff. They are very professional and care about their patients! I recommend them highly!

It seems that no matter what kinda of day or problems I have Amy and staff have me leaving with a smile and confidence in them.

This review is more about Ascension’s new scheduling system and the office’s unwillingness to correct their own mistakes. After our family physician retired, we called months ago to establish care with Dr. Hix. We were explicitly told she was accepting new patients (especially bc this was the group taking over for our retired physician). We received a call THE DAY BEFORE our long awaited scheduled appointment to inform us Dr Hix is not, and has not been for many months, accepting new patients. Instead of honoring their mistake, they rudely informed us “all they could do was say they were sorry.” In healthcare, this is unacceptable. Patients in need of monitoring or medications need adequate time to make appointments OR for these physicians to own these mistakes. Disappointed with the level of professionalism from this office.

Dr. Hix is thorough, competent, knowledgeable, easy to talk with. My questions were answered, concerns addressed. Plus, her office staff was as always, the best, I always feel comfortable.

I have multiple health issues and Dr. Hix oversees my general health to ensure all the meds I take are not adversely affecting my overall wellbeing. She and her staff make sure my meds are kept up to date with the pharmacy and handle any minor problems that may arise. She has recommended a few vaccines to address past health issues to keep me in good health, and they all are very interested in keeping me well. The staff are always helpful and very friendly which makes visits to the office a great experience.

Dr Hix and her staff are very thorough. She listens to you before making a diagnosis and asks you questions during your examination. She is awesome.

Dr Hix listens to any concerns I may have she is very knowledgeable. Doesn’t hesitate to recommend a specialist if needed. I trust Dr Hix with all my health care needs.

We did televisit, but like always Mrs Hix is a wonderful doc!!! She is ready at the drop off a hat to treat me according!!! Talks to me about everything to help my chances etc

She is thorough and professional. I was referred for the 1st Covid 19 immunizations, my blood sugar dropped under her care, and she sees me generally close to appointment times. Her staff is excellent with great follow-up on lab results, how you are feeling after treatment, and text/e-mail appointment notification. I have recommended her to friends.
