Dr. Amy Owen, DO

When Dr Owen diagnosed my husband with diabetes she made the assumption that he was an adult so he must have Type 2 diabetes and never tested to confirm that. He found out at the hospital shortly before dying that he actually had Type 1 diabetes. Had she taken the time to test him, he may have had a completely different outcome and treatment and could still be alive. It is not unheard of to be diagnosed with Type 1 as an adult. If she does not know enough about diabetes she should refer her patients to someone who does. She never referred him to an endocrinologist. Definitely do not recommend her for your health care.

I have been with Mountain View medical since I moved to Colorado Springs in 2005. First I saw and loved Dr. Terri Weber, a down to earth, tell it like it is doctor. Then she retired and I started seeing Dr. Owen. Not sure how to take the young doctor, I did give her a chance to see how she did. I’m so happy I did. She is thorough and listens and ere’s on the caution side. I trust what she says and always listen to what she thinks is the best course of action as she never down plays my concerns. Love and trust her explicitly!

I have been seeing Dr. Owen for many years. Her care is exceptional as well as her follow-up.

Several visits on different conditions. Patient, down to earth, compassionate. Asks lots of questions. Explains things well. Office staff and office are friendly.

I was a patient with Dr. Owen for a couple of years and left her when I had a 9am appointment and she didn't get to me until 1pm (I showed up at 8:30). My wife continued to keep her as her doctor and had an appointment yesterday concerning covid-19 symptoms including high fever. Today, her nurse called back and suggested going to an urgent care as they would probably send her for covid-19 test. Let me add that I'm a dialysis patient and thus high risk for covid-19. Doctor won't send for covid test, but suggests to go to urgent care ... why go to doctor???

Wonderful. Professional and good at listening and really follows up on abnormal laboratory values. She or her assistants have called. I feel very much like she cares and for an 80 year old she remains interested in me. A good thing. Very willing to get a consult if needed. I am an retired physician and am happy

Been going to Dr. Owen for years. She is very personable and is very sympathetic and helpful with your concerns and does not rush you out of there like a lot of Doctors.

Dr. Owen is a wonderful doctor. She listens to you and spends as much time as you need without making you feel rushed and unimportant. My family and I are all patients of hers and I would definitely recommend her to other family members and friends.

She is a great doctor who is kind, patience, thorough and she takes her time which I am grateful for and she is a great listener. I would highly recommend her as a doctor without hesitation. She also recommended, on my behalf, two different specialists for my shoulder surgery and my belly button hernia surgery who were superb.

The absolute best choice I have ever made regarding medical care. Very professional approach, just the right personality to set me at ease enough to discuss the most sensitive male related problems. I cannot say enough positive things about the level of care I have received. I am trying to convince my wife to change her PCP to Dr Owen. Thank you Lord for this blessing.
