Pulmonary embolism resolved
Dr. Blum is an excellent physician that resolved a critical health scare for me. I am a 65-year-old male suffering from shortness of breath. I went into the Elmhurst Hospital emergency room expecting a diagnosis of a flu or respiratory virus. They quickly determined I had a more serious condition and diagnosed bilateral pulmonary embolism. Dr. Blum was thorough in analyzing my condition and explaining the need for immediate intervention. He and his staff took time with me while I processed this situation. He performed an intricate procedure to remove the clots in both my lungs and heart. Dr. Blum explained the positive results to my family and followed up with me while in Intensive Care to assure my needs were met. He and his staff have my highest regards.

ZERO stars if I could
Horrible!! Worst dr. I ever experienced. Performed a simple cold ablation on my left kidney but in the process he punctured my colon. Did not admit it and I was hospitalized for 13 days with a renal abscess. Left the hosp. with 2 drains coming out of my back and going for antibiotic infusions every day for 6 weeks. When he removed the drains, there was still a secretion but he said my body would absorb it. He knew he was negligent but never called or followed up with me to see how I was doing...only after I talked to the infection disease dr. to whom I told Blum ghosted me then he called 2 days later. The drainage returned with a vengeance and I am now in the care of Northwestern Hosp. who s leaving no stone unturned and yes, my colon still has a puncture which they will repair.

Renal angioplasty
Dr.Blum is a wonderful surgeon. He has implanted two stents in my left kidney not functioning. In between the two successful procedures, the second procedure was unsuccessful as Dr. Blum could not get to the artery being block and not enough time to work because of dye further damaging, Dr. Blum was successful a month later. He is great, and has saved me from being on dyalisis.

Dr. Blum has an excellent bedside manner and has a calm demeanor which is awesome. He is caring and professional. I would definitely recommend him to family and friends. He was successful in stenting my mother's complicated 100% blocked Iliac artery.

Dr. Blum has an excellent bedside manner. He takes the time to explain the procedure to you and the results you can expect. He is very good at answering any questions you have and does not rush you. I trust his decisions and his expertise. I am still awaiting for the long term results of my fibroid embolization procedure but so far, everything has been as Dr. Blum explained and as I expected. The procedure itself had no complications and went "technically perfect."
