-NP Sharraine Wilson had no clue to almost every question i had. -Was given a specimen cup to provide a urine sample. The cup had blood on inside before i had opened it -NP Shawnda Pointer consulted with me before my surgery and assured me i would be taken care of afterwards. Was in excruciating pain because i was supposed to be switched to something else after the surgery because my body had adapted to current medication. The oncall doc suggested that i just up the dose which did not help at all. -Would not provide a paper script before i left town because "that's not what we do". -Told me that my next visit would be teleconference. Reneged on that and told me i must show up despite the pandemic going on. I told them that my wife is pregnant and is having complications and that i didnt want to take a chance getting her sick. Told me "you still go to work everyday so you're already in it and its the same thing". I have never in my entire life dealt with people so reckless/callous.

Dr. Cottingham is an excellent doctor. He listens very well, and explains MRI and x-ray findings, and answers all questions. He is patient, professional, and extremely knowledgeable. His office staff and medical assistant were also very professional and friendly. I trust him completely, and will go back to him when I need to. I gave him an A+.

His Office staff makes it pretty much impossible to see him. They WILL NOT follow up with you. They do not return calls. On my last visit he stood me up. Nurse said she would call me to reschedule. It has been 3 months - no call! I’m going elsewhere!!!

I was referred to Dr. C by my PCP for an extreme pain issue in my knee that was triggered by a cyst resting on a nerve on my spine. 6 months ago I underwent an epidural, it wasn't successful on the first try, but the 2nd, I was pain free for 6 months. We tried the epidural again, but didn't have the success of epidural #2. Dr. C referred me to a neurosurgeon and we'll have to see how that goes. I am very pleased with Dr. C. and will go back to him should I need a pain dr. again.

After spending 15 years with pain management doctors giving me all kinds a steroid shots & The burn. I was told I had stenosis and scoliosis and degenerative disc among other things . But no one could give me a reason why . The minute Dr Cottingham got me under the x-ray machine for my steroid shots injections he told me I had a slipped disc. He sent me to an orthopedic surgeon to repair. He is intelligent and smart and he knows what he’s looking at in an x-ray. He showed me and I didn’t

Dr. Cottingham is great. I'm surprised to see those rude staff are still rude and still working for him. Who needs that when you are in pain especially? I quit going there because of them. His nurse practs. have always been top notch, most pain places operate with them. He's the best I've ever had at procedures. I've been left hurt by another doc. I was going to return but now being reminded of the mean staff and they are no different? It's sad that anyone would be nasty for so many years.

Dr Cottingham will only see you on the first visit, Then he will only see you if you are getting the injections he wants or a stimulating machine put in your back. I didn't want wires hanging out of my back ,so I got the injection he suggested,It helped for about a week then pain in my lower back returned.I am still paying off that shot. I was taking 2 pain pills a day that help me function on a normal level .He wanted to stop that force me to get surgery i did not want.or shots that didn't help

Dr. Cottingham has a great bedside manner, took time to listen to me and explain the procedure. Unfortunately that's as far as we got. He promised to see me within two weeks for my injections. His office staff refuses to file my paperwork or schedule my procedure. They are incredibly rude and condescending. I wish I had read these reviews before agreeing to see him. Staff claims that the DR doesn't understand the process. Still in pain, cannot get any answers and arm is going numb while I wait.

Do not bother! Wow. Terrible staff. Dr. Cottingham is good, but his staff is rude, ignorant, and unwilling to help at all. They are closed minded and will not listen or help with any special circumstances and even do illegal things, like refuse to let patients pay out of pocket. Sometimes they take forever to return calls or just don't call back. They cancel long standing appointments at 4:30 pm the night before the appointment. Don't bother - there are better doctors with competent staff.

Dr. Cottingham has been working on my back for years briefly relieving the pain from Ankylosing Spondlitus. Nice man and very professional. He has long wait times but doesn't rush in and out once you get in to see him. No complaints here all compliments.

Dr Cottongham is kind & proficient. Unfortunately, Mary C. and Shannon (office staff) are both extremely rude & try to force you into seeing a Nurse Practitioner instead of the doctor. They cancelled a long standing appt I had with Dr. Cottongham. I reached them 3 days later- the excuse they gave was "We had to rearrange things..." No appt w/ the Dr. Cottingham for 2 more weeks. Doubtful I can return to see Dr. Cottongham since his employees cancel at whim. I'm sad his employees are so awful.

Extremely rude office staff and assistants. Wait time is unreal. Cottingham does not have a consistent bed manner. One day he acts like the nicest guy, the next visit he turned into a condescending awful person that actually mocked me during a procedure. I could not believe it. He never apologized for being late either. His assistant is extremely impolite. I had enough of this and found a practice where the doctor is on time, is not making fun if his patients, and the staff are courteous.

Dr. Cottingham has given me epidural injections at least 3 times. He is pleasant to work with and I liked him and the staff at Baylor very much. His office staff, however, is very rude! Whenever I have dealt with them, they don't listen, they talk over you on the telephone, and do anything to get rid of you as quick as possible and transfer you to someone's voicemail. Voicemails are not returned in a prompt manner. I wish I had Dr. C's email, so he could read this firsthand.

IF you get to see Dr. Cottingham, you will be so pleased with him overall! This Dr. is kind and he listens. I've been going to him over 10 years and never had a complaint against him. He is a lovely professional man. His office mgr. is the opposite...unprofessional and a bully, (to patients and staff) to say the least. Another problem is that you hardly ever get to see him, unless you are having a procedure or surgery. I see him about once a year now. He is just too busy to see his patients.
