My initial visit with through telehealth. He often was cutting me off and never let me explain all of my symptoms. Although he was quick to shedule a colonoscopy which gave me some hope that he wasnt going to brush me off. I had barely woken up fron anesthesia before I immediately got brushed off. He went straight to my only issue being ibs and refused to do anything else. We already knew ibs was suspected but I was still having issues and they were just getting worse. I had to argue with him over several messages on the portal before he said to come back in to talk about it. I didnt go back because I should not have to fight to get care.

I had a diagnostic colonoscopy with Dr. Cummins. I tried to figure out the cost of the procedure multiple times, I kept being told someone would call me back. I never received the cost. Then, two weeks after my appointment, I didn't hear about the biopsy results. I called the practice as this is a new issue and he didn't give me any instructions on what to do following the colonoscopy. He simply said we would discuss it on the phone once he had the biopsy results. The receptionist let me know that he has had my results for over a week and hasn't even opened them. I am switching practices and would suggest to anyone reading this to find a different doctor as well.

A whole lot of nothing
Dr. Cummins wait time is 3 months out and when seen finally for a medical issue, had no answers on what to do for my condition. Not sure why they accepted the referral, made me wait 3 months to tell me to eat more fiber. Do not recommend at all. Already seeing new doctor who had provided ten fold the answers than him and actually came up with a medical plan for me. Also, did not call me back after saying their office would review my test results. A joke if you ask me!

Only Interested in Routine Care
My MD husband had been a patient of Dr. Cummins for 15 years. He was suffering from bleeding and called his office to schedule an urgent appointment. The receptionist refused to let him speak with Dr. Cummins and determined that he did not need to be seen for two months then scheduled an appointment. Two weeks later, the bleeding became significantly worse and we called the office again but was told again by the receptionist that he would need to see an irritable bowel doctor not Dr. Cummins but after much harranging, she agreed to give the message to one of Dr. Cummins staff who would call us back promptly. He was that day admitted to the UCSD ER for an emergency colonoscopy which we waited in the ER for for 3 days. We got a call back from Dr. Cummins office 5 business days after the first call. DO NOT see this doctor if you think you will need anything other than routine care. All he cares about is doing scheduled colonoscopies on healthy people and making $$.

Was a referral patient to practice from PCP - Matched with Dr. Cummins based on availability. Was pleasantly surprised, easy to talk to about procedure, expectations and answered any questions that came to mind. Would recommend, very personable.
