Very compassionate and intelligent.
Dr. Engel is very compassionate and a great listener. Hard to find a doctor with the ability to to diagnose quickly and accurately as well be so very caring. Pain is subjective, and he understands that subjectiveness. His staff is also very helpful and friendly and on top of their game.

I am really impressed by Dr. Andrew Engel and his staff at Affordable Pain Care. By sheer beautiful luck I was able to slip into a canceled appointment the same day I called and meet Dr. Engel, who went over everything thoroughly and ended up finding an issue that a previous doctor overlooked that could be causing all the pain I am dealing with. It wasn't the typical 20 minutes with the nurse and *maybe* 5 minutes to meet the doctor as I had experienced elsewhere, we were face to face for the entire appointment and had a very thorough workup. The same day he was able to offer an injection that certainly has helped. Dr Engel is really an amazing doctor and took the time to find out what was going on with my injuries to offer help, that first day. It really was a lifesaver. I'm traveling back from London next month just to be able to get his help, he is certainly worth it. If you are looking for a good caring pain management doctor, give Dr Engel a call, I really think you will

A complete joke. Dr "Andy" is his preferred name and Bozo the clown his alter ego. He lied to and over charged my insurance company which I am legally having corrected. Handy Andy doesn't even have a nurse to weigh you or take your vitals. I hardly consider complaining to a person in pain about your peronal life as being professional, which is exactly what he does. Run from this ripoff as fast as you can limp!

Horrible. To be fair, he will spend a lot of time with you because his schedule was usually wide open, but if this is where you go for medication management beware. Make sure you don't need to be out of town for more than 7 days for a family emergency and then funeral, because he is totally cool with sending you into withdrawal after that time frame of support.

Refused to disclose conflict of interest. Was Primary Researcher for Medtronics. Rep in the room during surgical. She cried at my screaming and counseled him to maybe stop. The trial failed. Avoid him.

Dr. Andrew Engel was phenomenal, I recommend him very highly. I spent a month talking to a half dozen doctors and faced a long string of delays. I eventually just gave up on my insurance and just searched for a highly qualified back specialist with immediate availability. Dr. Engel seemed to be operating at a level above all the other back specialists. He's very good at what he does, with good bedside manner as well. Affordable out of pocket too.
