Great Surgeon Mediocre Office Practice
Nuanced review. Knows his medicine and great hands - good surgical outcome. Office practice is mediocre. Three examples. 1 - Did not provide adequate seating for a partner during initial diagnosis of prostate cancer. It was in a small uncomfortable exam room. 2 - Prior digital rectal exam was most insensitive one I had ever experienced. 3 - Lab requests for two tests were not paced with lab despite being told by office staff tests were required at least one week prior to the appointment.

I can't say enough about Dr. Joel. He is one of the very best doctor's I've had in my 68 years. He is warm, personable, honest, considerate, and caring. He responds well to questions and provides clear and understandable answers and involves me in all decisions for future care and treatment. I have and will continue to recommend him to others. I live [...]and I know there are other urologists closer to my home. But it is worth the trip to [...] to have Dr. Joel as my urologist. It gives me great comfort to know he will be my physician for current or future urology issues.
