A one star rating is too good!
For 3 months my husband doctored with Doctor Johnson for a torn Achilles tendon. He wore a boot for 1 week, then was casted 2 separate times for 2 weeks each. After the casts came off, he has worn a boat for 9 weeks. We finally went to a different specialist, only to have that Doctor request immediate surgery to stitch up the Achilles tendon. The surgery was performed in 5 days from seeing her. She stitched the tendon, cleaned out the area from the scar tissue that had resulted from Dr Johnson's self healing method and also added donated human tissue and graft material to assist in the healing. My husband is already doing much better in a few hours than he has in the 3 months under Dr A. Johnson's care. Dr Johnson basically said, with people your age we usually just put in a boot and let it heal itself. Well, my husband is past 72 years old but very, very active at the lake, fishing, golfing, walking. Hes not old and will be golfing soon. Please seek another opinion if you can!

Severe cellulitis of toe dismissed without care.
I see a different Podiatrist later today and can only hope that I don't lose my toe due to Dr. Johnson's lack of care, resulting in delay of proper medical intervention. I made an appt. with a Podiatrist specifically due to concerns over great toe on left foot, same side that I had a total hip done on less that 3 months ago. Toe was very warm to touch, cherry red in color, seeping cloudy serous fluid and blood, swollen, painful, & a loose nail. He took a cursory look, instructed me to swab with iodine, alternating with antibiotic ointment daily (was already doing the latter); he swabbed & rewrapped it. I went to the ER within 36 hrs where I was properly treated. The ER Dr. relieved the pressure with needle sticks to the toe which spurted, gently removed the sloughing skin, removed the nail, did wound cultures, checked my Tetanus vacc. status, prescribed antibiotics & pain med, with firm instructions to follow up in 2 days (after the weekend) with Podiatry at a different clinic.
