Dr. Andrew Maiolo, MD

Scary. I passed out & the ER sent me to him. I wore a heart monitor & they said it said nothing of importance. He did a, 'tilt test' about the dumbest thing Ive ever done. The only thing he said was I needed more salt in my diet.? A few days after that I had a few more heart issues, went to Carilion & they did a stress test & found my heart was fine, just out of rhythm!! Unbelievable!! Id prob be dead by now if I took his word.

Dr Maiolo's office suggested a medical test to my husband that was NOT necessary and they quoted him a price $$$$ and we paid out of pocket. NOW we have another $6000 bill to pay and the office claims they didn't know. Insurance isn't covering it. Oh they have no idea how much their tests cost at Lewis Gale? Make sure you get EVERY THING in writing because they lie and withhold information.

Dr. Mailo came in the room after I had a loop recorder placed by his PA that was causing me more pain then I've ever had from a surgery and I've had numerous surgeries. He came into the room with immediate attitude. He grabs a hold of the neck of my shirt rips it down below my breast ripping my shirt. This cardiologist is great until he shows a raging temper and thinks he can lay his hands on patients in an inappropriate manner. I requested the loop recorder be moved, he refused. I asked that it be taken out he tried to make me wait another week in excruciating pain. It hurt to just breathe. The ER Dr thought it had punctured a lung. The second the thing was removed I was out of pain and feeling 100% better. I agreed to getting a loop recorder in the flat area of the chest not in my breast and never would of agreed to something implanted in my breast because I'm high risk for breast cancer. I thought I'd seen it all but am in awe that a Dr. that is licensed gets away with this.

I recently had a heart "episode" and had a stint placed within my heart. Following that I have continued to experience some chest discomfort and back pain. Dr. Maiolo and his staff have taken this very seriously and worked with me to find answers and resolve this problem. I trust Dr. Maiolo and would recommend him to other's with heart issues. :)

Dr. Maiolo is an awesome doctor! I felt that he is very competent and takes his time with you to answer your questions. I think he cares about you as a patients, is very personable, makes you feel at ease, and takes his time to answer your questions.

Arrived 15 minutes early and was received into office nearly appointment time. Staff friendly and knowledgeable.Covid distancing in place. Physician reviewed previous test and explained clearly in terms easy to understand.

Dr. Maiolo Has been my Cardiologist for several years . I'v always found him to be very professional and knowledgeable and he always takes the time to answer any questions that I might have .

I had an apt with Dr. Maiolo but was switched to Mathew Boles . Mr. Bowles is competent but if I selected Dr. Mailol then That is who I should have seen..

MY appointment was on time, did not have to wait. Have always been treated professionaly by the Doctor and staff.
