I saw the doctor about 9 yrs. ago with a broken wrist. He said the usual fix was to pin the wrist. He decided he could remove 3 of the wrist bones instead and give me some mobility. Today I have great mobility and strength and no pain or arthritis at 65. I am glad I went to this doctor.

Great care for my finger. – Jan 06, 2020

Dr Andrew Markiewitz is not only my hand specialist, but I also consider him to be my good friend. When I had to cancel my first surgery because my wife had an emergency with her knee, he called to see how things were going with her. A friend of mine wanted to get an appt with Dr Andrew and he alerted his staff that this patient may be calling. I am convinced that his objective is to help his patients, and that is foremost in his mind.. He will do surgery, unless it can be avoided.. BRAVO!

I cannot express the gratitude that I have for Dr. Markiewitz. He is the most caring and knowledgeable surgeon that I have ever visited. I had a dog bite that had healed but became infected several months later. He performed surgery and sent several cultures away to determine the type of infection, one of which we waited for results for several weeks which turned out to be what he thought. I am now healed after 6 months and 2 surgeries. If not for Dr. Markiewitz I could have lost my hand.

Dr. Markiewitz did my surgery on right hand for Dupuytren's Contracture. It was more than we both thought as the disease had wrapped around a tendon. He did a wonderful job. Very happy with the out come. He'll be doing my other hand soon. Everyone from him to office staff to surgery team was wonderful caring and gentle people. Totally no pain after surgery at all. Any and all questions were addressed by everyone. They all care , you can tell , it shows. Thank you all very much !

I had two recent hand surgeries by Dr. Markiewitz. Both right and left hands required carpal tunnel syndrome surgery and each hand had three trigger fingers that required release. I could not be more pleased with the results. Dr. Markiewitz did a great job with the surgery and required follow-up physical therapy recommendations. He was also very encouraging during recuperation. The office staff if pleasant and helpful. I would call it an "Outstanding" experience

Dr. Markiewitz is a compassionate, caring profession who believes in the philosophy, 'less is more.' He treated my first broken wrist in Oct 2012 and my second in Feb 2017. He thoroughly explained my fractures and what procedures were needed to repair them. Both my wrists are straight and 100% functional. He is very thorough, reviewing your medical history and looking for any connections in your medical history to your fractures.

Very rude and crass. Did not review my chart and tests, tried to tell me certain tsts were not done, despite me having the results with me. He made snide comments about the Cincinnati Magazine Top doctor who preformed my tests saying they were not good or reliable in their evaluation. Good thing he was my second opinion or I would be looking for a surgeon all over again. Maybe it was an off day for him after looking at the other reviews but he definately was not polite, kind or compassionate.

Dr. M treated me for Dupuytren's contracture in the ring and pinkie fingers of my left hand. I couldn't be more pleased with the outcome. The fingers are straight and flexible allowing me the dexterity to even play my guitar for the first time in several years. I have to admit that when he described the surgery and the "Digit Widget" used to straighten my finger I was a bit concerned. However, post-op pain was minimal and I payed attention to good wound care. No real problems. Thanks Doc.

I called my GP & got Doc Markiewitz number after being recommended to Wellington at ER. At Wellington, I was expecting a cast but was told I needed surgery with no pictures of xrays or explaining anything. I may not be as educated as the Doctor at Wellington but I am involved in taking care of my own body. Doc Markiewitz explained everything, even called after surgery to make sure I'd take pain pills & to be seen before weekend. If you need a kindhearted professional, he's the one!
