A Diamond in the Rough
In the past week I have had 2 scary visits to the Vanderbilt ER. Quite literally the ONLY bright spot in the whole ordeal was my interaction with Dr. Andrew Neck. He was competent, informative, compassionate, calm and likable in a very distressing and chaotic environment. He SHONE amongst his colleagues. I work in a field where I am routinely introduced to some of the finest physicians and surgeons in the world. I now count Dr. Neck among them. If I could give him 100 stars I would. His colleagues are lucky to work with him. His patients are lucky to have him on their care team. His educators and parents should be very proud. He is a testament to his profession. I am overjoyed to write this review in support of him and I intend to reach out to his superiors to sing his praises further. It's more than worth my time and effort to lend support to someone this special.

I was seen by Dr. Neck last night in the VA ER for persistent debilitating pain. This doctor was facetious, condescending, and confrontational. He refused to help me at all, turning me away from the ER. When I asked him, so you are saying that you will not help me at all? He answered, yes that is what I am saying. The is a poor excuse for someone who took the Hippocratic oath.
