Wonderful doctor
Dr Niewald is knowledgeable, caring and takes the time to answer all your questions. I feel really confident about his diagnoses and treatments he has given to me. I’m so happy about the care I receive from him and the whole staff. I highly recommend Dr. Niewald.

My husband and I loved Dr. Niewald and was his patient for several years until he sent out letters stating he was going to be leaving March 28th to treat strictly Medicare patients. There was NO follow through with our needed prescriptions. We were left dangling at the mercy of two new doctors who had not arrived yet and we were placed with the NP that we had never seen. Both of us had been on meds. that she had no authority to prescribe refills for. Therefore, those meds were stopped abruptly. Needless to say, the confidence and trust we had in Dr. Niewald was completely shattered. I wouldn’t doubt if the way we have been treated is a form of malpractice. Sooo disappointed and struggling to find someone we can trust.

Ever since I was eligible for Medicare eight years ago I have been under the excellent care of Doctor Niewald. He is a good listener and has referred me to other very good specialists for my various medical needs. I highly recommend him. He is in the process of moving his practice to Clyde Morris Blvd where he will be seeing many Medicare patients. New phone number will be 386-259-6026.

I would not recommend Dr. Niewald. I’ve seen no evidence that he actually cares about his patients. It’s more like we’re a bother, whom he pretends to tolerate. I think If he had it his way we’d have no input into our own care because he knows best. Typical Dr. God complex served via soft shoe. Additionally he puts forth ultimatums threatening to withhold needed medications if we aren't doing what he wants, when he wants it, without asking or taking in to consideration the patients world or covid activity. There are better choices available. Keep looking.

Upon moving to Florida in 2014, I first met with Dr. Niewald for a surgical clearance. As seniors my wife and I quickly recognized that Dr. Niewald was outstanding. He, his Nurse Mary, and his office staff have provided us outstanding patient care, consistently above and beyond our expectations every visit or call in, for several years now. Dr. Niewald is always very thorough treating his patients. At one point our first year, during a routine periodic wellness exam, I just mentioned my throat had felt funny, perhaps like a sinus infection coming on. Well my life was saved by his observant nature. He immediately did further testing and then sent me to the ER where my left main heart artery was found almost totally blocked requiring a stent procedure. This was a freak thing which never showed itself on any prior cardiogram, or stress test, and so it was missed by all my other regular prior NY doctors, and may have been once again were it not for Dr. Niewald.

Disappointing, my annual physicals consist of going over my labs and listening to my heart and lungs nothing else. The Doctor is very nice, but no follow up; went in for an issue, he suggested something to try, but didn’t asked me to make follow up appointment and never contacted me to see how things were doing. The worst is dealing with Advent Health in general, especially billing.

My first and last visit with Dr. Niewald in Daytona Beach. Was interrogated instead of cared for. After reviewing the records I brought in, he asked, "What did I want him to do for me?" I said that I have muscle spasms, and chronic anxiety. He said, " I don't write controlled substance prescriptions and that I needed mental health care."

Dr niewald in Daytona has one of the worst staff that I have seen in any operation. Nicki is the rudest women I have ever met. Her attitude displays among the other women in the front office. Dr niewald is an average doctor but thinks he knows more about your body in 30 min then you do. Won't listen but tells you and seems very cocky. Maybe it started with how bad I was treated to checkout with nicki that made the entire experience bad. I will not be back and will make sure others won't go.
