Inaccessible and doesn't let you talk
I'm sure Dr. Segraves is intelligent and well-educated, but he doesn't listen to me or give me much of a chance to talk about my symptoms. He also isn't available in between appointments, which means he won't address your side effects.

Dr. Segraves treats two of my immediate family members. We switched from a longtime provider after getting " stuck". Dr S is very personable, actually listens, takes time with each patient ( such a change) and us very pro- active with medication, which last doc was not and has been life-changing. We have seen many, many psych docs and cannot recommend him highly enough.

My first visit with Dr. Segraves (Andrew) might have been slightly awkward, but my second visit was quite the opposite. I think Too many people are often wanting therapists out of their psychiatrists. Not saying Dr. Segraves and many other psychs cannot perform this task, because I believe they can. But these are two separate entities, and it’s time a comment explained that. I believe Dr. Segraves does his best to understand how his patient is feeling. If a patient is not actively trying to express their feelings in detail, How can you possibly blame ANY doctor for not always knowing what to do? I think Using a young doctor as your scapegoat for you failing to express yourself in a way he’s able to understand and help you is not the best way to go about these things. I, personally, have had An amazing experience with Andrew. He’s truly a genuine doctor who always listens and then responds. I hope you’ll give him a shot before reading some of the negative comments about him.

It was ok. He helped a little but not to the extent I wanted. He was glued to his computer.

He's a wonderful psychiatrist- willing to listen, understood my problem and wanted to help. Very knowledgable and compassionate. I was initially nervous about going to see a psychiatrist but he instantly put me at ease. Bonus: there was virtually no wait to be seen!

I have seen Dr. Andrew Segraves for close to two years now. He was easy to connect with from the start. He switched my medication soon after I began seeing him and I experienced a drastic improvement in my quality of life. Psychiatry Associates of Kansas City is a zoo but if you can get past that, Dr. Andrew Segraves is amazing.

Yeah, the office there is a zoo and maybe not aesthetically pleasing, but Dr. Andrew Segraves is awesome. I recently switched to him after my longtime Dr had me in a rut- too many meds and not enough actual help. He was quick, professional, and put me on the right track. No complaints here. Even the office staff is super friendly to me.

Awesome, he just gave me what I needed no BS no trying to make me feel like I was drug seeking because I knew what worked for me. First time I have been taken seriously in SO LONG, I just about wanted to cry if I'm honest. Friendly and easy to talk to as well, great experience overall.

This doctor needs to go back to school. The man cannot do basic math and does not know correct conversions between medications. His office is a windowless box. It’s terrible. He stares a computer screen the entire appointment. He is very cold and very arrogant.

He did more harm than good for my wife. Luckily she switched not just doctors but practices (that whole place is a zoo) and is now so much better. She’s just about reached all of her goals- no thanks to Dr. Segraves.

Dr. Segraves discharged my significant other, who suffers from bipolar depression and PTSD, because she missed an appointment. He apparently expects psychiatric patients never to forget anything and wants to punish them for the very disorders they are trying to have treated. This is after he forgot to call her medication in to the pharmacy on a couple of occasions, so apparently he's allowed to be forgetful but his patients who are mentally ill are not.

Dr. Andrew Segraves has really helped me over the last year. He has never questioned or doubted my symptoms unless he was trying to clarify something. He has listened to the input I have about the medications he prescribes me, and he has adjusted them according to my needs. I was able to see him 2 days after scheduling my appointment, which I thought was incredible.

I saw Dr. Segraves for anxiety but I switched to another provider because Segraves didn’t really know what he was doing. When I was changing my meds, he went too fast. I did online searches because I was pretty sure it needed to be a slow transition and I was right. He is also very awkward and difficult to converse with. I also dislike the PAKC office. No one picks up the phones and it’s so hard to get questions answered. You only get 15 minutes to talk to the doc which I think is too short.

Dr. Seagraves is very in tune with our daughter and is very relatable. He is not a medication "pusher" like many psychiatrists we have seen. He listens to our daughter and really tries to understand what is happening in order to make the best recommendation possible.
