Great Doctor
Dr. Thomson did surgery on my foot and ankle. It was emergency surgery and he came right to the hospital and got things going. Having to spend a few days in the hospital, he was there every day, wonderful bedside manner, very caring and helped me to feel better about things. I had to call his office a couple times between appointments since the surgery and both he and his assistants have immediately handled my problem and have been wonderful. I would really recommend him. He seems like a very personable person along with being an excellent doctor.

Dr. Thomson spent time explaining my plan of action for foot surgery. He answered all of my questions. The surgery was successful. I had very little pain and followed his post-op instructions. I feel he is a highly educated doctor in his field. I will also have surgery on my other foot this summer with Dr. Thomson. We live 2 hours away and I'm so thankful we made the decision to go with him.

Dr. Thomson was just great. Very knowledgeable. Personable and professional both. He immediately set me an ease, explained exactly what was wrong and gave me options on how we can proceed. Suggested I study the options before making a decision. Really liked him.

I had an ankle replacement on Feb 27, 2020 by Dr. Thomson at the St Thomas Surgery Center. I cannot say enough about this experience. From the two ladies at the front desk who were so friendly to the surgery team who worked together like a fine oiled machine they were so professional. The nurses and anesthesia team were the best. My IV was started and the next thing I remember was surgery was over. They didn't pressure me to hurry and wake up so that they could discharge me as has been done to me in previous surgeries. I had an hour and half drive home and I had no pain. The team called me every day for six days to check on me at home and encouraged me to take pain medicine which I had no pain. Out patient surgery is the way to go. Relax in your own home. Give Dr. Thomson and the St Thomas Surgery Center a call. As a Registered Nurse myself I promise you won't be disappointed. Also thanks to the RN who gave me the peppermint for my nausea cause it hit the spot!

Dr Thomson has an excellent demeanor and is very personable. I am impressed with his surgical skills. His followup has been thorough and enabled me to be on the road to recovery sooner than I expected. I am currently pain free and very grateful for his recommendation to do an ankle replacement. Dr. Thomson and his team were outstanding in providing answers to all of my questions. I appreciated the time Dr. Thomson took to discuss any concerns my husband or I had, as well as how personable he was throughout the process. His support team did an excellent job responding in a timely manner and assisting me with any concerns. After talking to many others who had this procedure, I feel very fortunate to have been recommended to Dr. Thomson and his staff.

Having surgery is scary, and I was reluctant to schedule it. I needed two procedures- Dr. Thomson patiently answered my questions, thoroughly discussed solutions, and was supportive of taking time to feel comfortable proceeding. I fully expected to have a great deal of pain post-op (two incisions and a screw were involved!), but I didn't and now, almost a month out, I'm steadily regaining mobility and my life. He is the BEST.

I’mnot normally one to leave reviews, but I feel it necessary in this case so others don’t have to go through the same ordeal. I injured my foot in a tennis match and went to see Dr Thompson the following day. He did an X-ray in the office and sent me for an MRI the same afternoon. While in the office, based on my description of the injury and location of pain, dr Thompson suspected a Lisfranc ligament injury. Unbeknownst to me how serious a Lisfranc injury is, I asked dr Thompson how soon I could get back to tennis. He said he thought 4-5 days of rest and instructed me to wear a carbon fiber plate in my shoe. He sent me on my way. No walking boot. I went for the MRI which confirmed fluid on both sides of the ligament indicating a Lisfranc sprain. Dr Thompson’s office called with the report and told me I was “day to day” and could play tennis as soon as I felt better. Still no recommendation of a walking boot. A few days later, my foot was still intensely painful so I went to see anoth

Dear Patient of Dr. Thomson, Just wanted to assure you that you chose the best surgeon to take care of your feet. 8 years ago, Dr. Thomson corrected a bunion on my right foot. And just 2 weeks ago, he corrected the left foot. Very little pain, swelling is controlled with rest, ice, elevation and advil. He's great.

Had reconstructive surgery on left foot (older, broken down runner). Although quite involved, Dr. Thomson explained the procedure in detail, as well as the recovery. I'm eight weeks (of 10 to 12) into recovery, and all is well. Dr. Thomson, his staff, and his Physical Therapy team are very knowledgeable, understand "customer service", like what they do and show it. I'm getting great care.

Dr. Thomson is the best! I came to his office after going to another specialist who merely glanced at my toe and said surgery was the only option. Dr. Thomson's staff took x-rays, and he patiently explained everything to me in language I could understand. He let me know there were other options, and later performed a non-surgical procedure that straightened my toe. Cannot thank him enough!
