I had seen Dr. Winnefeld for specific problems basically to see him for x-rays due to severe leg and back pain and to discuss about kidney failure. He spent the whole time going through my medications which was already listed in my application and when I had asked about the xrays he said "next time". I called the front desk and politely stated that I would like to see another doctor and spoke to three different employees on the phone who had promised to let me know with an update and never called back. They had finally set me up with another doctor 3 weeks later but I had already made an appointment with the new doctor. I received a call yesterday from my new doctor and found out that she wasn't certified in medicare so now I am in a rock and a hard place. Finally, I had called Family health West to see if that doctor was still available they said I was banned from family health west for going outside their office. STAY AWAY, this is how they treat new patients.

Medical Gaslighting
Met with Dr. Winnfield because my primary care provider was unavailable for two months. Was told he would see my notes and it would be just like seeing my pcp. At the appointment he had no idea of my history, would not listen to me, and when I presented alternative opinions he ended the appointment. He stood up and said “I don’t have time for this”. This man is not concerned about your health, and don’t try to think for yourself.

I met Dr. Winnefeld at the VA Medical Center in Grand Junction, Colorado and he has just recently joined the staff there. Waiting times at the VA can either be very good or very bad so I can't fault him for my long wait on my first visit. What I can say is that is seems to be a good and caring doctor and time will tell on that. He certainly does NOT deserve a 1 start rating. I would rate him at 3.5 stars to start and will learn more as he continues to practice at the VA. Semper Fi

Dr. Winnefeld took the time to go through all 25 of my medicines that another "geriatric" doctor kept putting me on to counter act symptoms caused by the intial medications. Dr Winnefeld was so patient and supportive. He is very serious and takes my health very seriously. I have never felt better and thank him for his time and care. He is truly a very compassionate and loving physician.

This guy's an idiot!! All he wants to do is the very basic. All he's good fore is refilling some of your prescriptions..But if it has to do with pain or something he might have to be compassionate about, then he fails miserably. .Find another family doctor, this guy has no personality and shouldn't be treating patients.
