I'm a dollar sign not a patient
I was so very excited to find an integrative medicine Dr for I believe in the power of the body to heal itself. I I went for my 1st annual physical in 5 years due to the pandemic &moving to a new state. I was also having pain in my kidney. I'm devastatingly disappointed at the service I've received from this dr. After doing my labs and physical with the PA I got to meet with the dr. It felt like a speed date, she had 1 foot out the door the entire visit, she literally only spent 15 minutes with me, she didn't go over my bloodwork, she'd sent me for 2 ultrasounds for the kidney which were inconclusive, so sent me for an MRI. When MRI results came in she refused to give them to me unless I made an appt. telling me they don't do telemedicine! What? I got my results myself directly from the imaging center. If you want a Dr. who is your partner in health and your adviser not your God, then, I suggest you find a different doctor.

Dubious Practice
I saw Dr. Akey twice and after that I only met with a PA. Dr. Akey sent off my DNA for a special discount to interpret my health risks. She recommended expensive vitamins, B12, that I didn't need and the last blood test showed they were in excess to the point they could be dangerous. She emails patients and promotes meetings and books, which are not free, and tries to sell supplements and her own political views. My first PA, Dawn Brown, was helpful on several occasions, however, but the last PA was very inexperienced.

Steer clear from this office
I don't usually even leave reviews on the internet, but was absolutely appalled with this office. My new Ins. coverage assigned me to her and when I called to make an appointment, I was told it would take a week to verify my coverage, before I could make an appointment. After that, I had to call them twice before I knew if my Ins. was validated. Then, I was told to print and fill out her new - patient paperwork, and until then, I could not make an appointment. Then I had to physically drop off the paperwork and I was told I could not make an appointment until it was reviewed by the doctor and that would take another week. Going on three (3) weeks now and I still have not been able to make an appointment, NOT get an appointment, but even make one. I repeatedly told them that this appointment was for medical issues that I was having and I needed to be seen. It wasn't till after all this that I read some of the online reviews. I would steer clear of this office.

Great! Mrs. & I have been patients for 20+ years and she and her PA, Dawn Brown are professional, competent and compassionate. The best GP I have seen in my 80+ years.

Fraud
This shouldn't get 1 star In 8 months I never met her, although I asked many times. The assistant rushes you through the appt. & tries to sell expensive holistic pills & classes. Had an MRI on my brain & for over a month won't give me the results. I tried for hours & days to get an answer. Don't even think about this place unless you hate yourself.

She is an absolute crook. She creates “groups” for you to attend and then bills your insurance for attending the group. This would be ok if the groups were beneficial or informative but they aren’t. The latest group is a “Covid Support” group. She also touts treatments and remedies that are not backed by legitimate science. This woman is a cancer on the medical field and I believe the medical board should look into her for fraud.

I feel so blessed to have chosen NFIM and Dr Angeli Akey as my primary care doctor. I am a nurse and deal with many doctors, but I have been so impressed by Dr Akey's level of compassion and care that has gone above and beyond my expectations. I got very sick during this Covid pandemic and Dr Akey, Dawn Brown, and all her staff were so helpful to me. Dr Akey and Dawn were very attentive to me with frequent TeleHealth appointments via videoconferencing and calling in any prescriptions I needed. They really helped me step by step during my illness. Dr Akey and her practice is the best! I can't say enough good things or express in words my gratitude to them. Dr Akey demonstrates compassion in her medical practice. This is something you don't see anymore these days. Like I said, I am blessed to have chosen NFIM as my Primary care.

She is very knowledgeable. I feel her bedside manner is a mix of Asperger's/The Good Doctor (TV show). She doesn't take a lot of time, so be sure you're to the point. I love the nuggets of knowledge she gives, if you're able to take it in. She seems to get interns to avoid paying staff and you always have to go in for a visit to get ANY question answered. Phone messages are not relayed. Expensive supplements are prescribed...kickbacks? She also recommends lots of her in-house seminars...$

She tends to rush into a diagnosis without waiting for test results. Doesn't seem to listen, rushes her questioning and explanations sometimes making me confused. Always insists on one buying expensive supplements which do absolutely nothing. She comes across as a know it all but hasn't been able to find what's wrong with me. Each time I go it's a different diagnosis. I'm still on the fence about her.

Dr. Akey has training in both conventional and integrative medicine. She is down-to earth and listens, as opposed to throwing pills at the patient. I an delighted with her and the other professionals in her practice. My former PCP was a nice person, but her practice seemed to be undergoing changes and my calls were not returned. I asked a trusted doctor in town for a referral and he recommended Akey. I am so pleased. She offers alternatives to the standard Big Pharma line and I am feeling better

I had an appointment at their office with great hope to receive LDN prescription since Dr.Akey is one of the few doctors who prescribes LDN in town. Come to find out all they did was that a nurse checked my breathing and heart with her stethoscope and collected my medical history. She also recommend me to take Dr.Akey's classes(with charge) and told me to hurry and sign up before the classes fill up. I was charged for $335.00 for the appointment which I paid since I have Aetna and they don't ac

Office is welcoming and smells nice. Mostly cordial office staff but my medical management is not being all the way handled appropriately. Issue sent to have labs my insurance did not cover and was not advised prior so paid office visit, lab, and sent bill! I inquired, told not pay, still outstanding. Referred to Simed neuro who did not check my insurance was active BC I switched companies & was a 1 month gap of which I got another bill. Unresolved and lacking PCC help to resolve.

BAD - Wait time 45-90 minutes (blamed the computer); seal opened on a supplement purchased from office (& they didn't believe me); didn't listen; rushed in & out; very high cost for labs when normal lab work is at no charge (told it was to pay the lab tech); never located my records from previous health provider; staff changed like the weather - what's that say; actually cancelled appointment & closed entire ofc. so all staff could attend a seminar; couldn't run away fast enough.

Uncomfortable experience. She made me cry after an appointment because she told me that since I didn't have any snacks in my purse it's my fault I'm not healthy. She was overall rude and saw me for approximately 5 minutes without answering all my questions

Horrible. My daughter is dealing with significant physical and mental issues related to a previous bout of Lyme. She was put on an anti-depressant which triggered her migranes making it impossible for her to work. Dr. Akey was dismissive, wouldn't listen to our questions or concerns, put my daughter on an additional drug that overloaded her system, didn't follow any proper protocols for second drug. I have been to many doctors, but never one so insensitive, incompetent, unhelpful, and uncaring.
