An Expert and Compassionate Rheumatologist
Dr. Angus Worthing has been excellent in helping me manage the joint and back pain caused by my severe Crohn’s disease, which has required multiple surgeries. He carefully assessed my condition and added another immunosuppressant to help control the inflammation while also addressing my osteoporosis, which developed from long-term steroid use. His expertise in both rheumatology and the broader impacts of Crohn’s has been invaluable. He listens, explains things clearly, and ensures that all aspects of my care are well-managed. I highly recommend him for his knowledge and compassionate approach.

The go to doctor
Dr. Worthing was worth finding. He works with each patient and takes the time needed to address all questions and concerns. My first appointment with him, he spent almost two hours to make sure that the diagnosis was correct (I had been misdiagnosed for over a decade). Thanks to Dr. Worthing and his care, I am somewhat normal again!

Best doctor hands down
Dr. Worthing is the best doctor I have ever dealt with. In any specialty. He diagnosed the issue that so many couldn’t for over 10 years. He took his time to examine me and my history, tests, etc. to finally find the answer. That answer provided me with a path forward to treat the condition. I owe Dr. Worthing so much.

Very thorough and detailed in his explanation
He was pleasant, patient and took the time to explain to me everything I needed to know about my diagnosis. Gave me a very understandable course of action to take in the upcoming months. I can see why it was so hard to get an appointment with him. He was GREAT!

Awesome caring specialist
Dr Worthing was recommended to me in 2018 by my hemotologist. I am so glad I took this recommendation. Dr. Worthing is caring, explains in detail everything about my condition, is very clear about my options and super knowledgeable. It's important to listen to your doctor and comforting to have a doctor that listens to you. Dr Worthing is all of this and I super highly recommend him...

He’s a fine enough doctor. I found him a little bit dismissive of my idea of using supplements a few years ago, but this is the norm with most doctors. But many are coming around. I was dx’d with fibromyalgia- which was accurate at the time. But I was encouraged to keep exercising which worsened things. More than one doctor told me that fibromyalgia wasn’t progressive but I have since learned that 50% of patients with fibro actually have small fiber neuropathy (which I have) and that is progressive. Also, I was recently diagnosed with ALS.

Dr Worthing has been treating me for arthritis for several years. I recently injured my toe. He had it x-rayed and there was no evidence of a break. He provided recommendations on care and after the pain didn't go away he recommended scans. He also referred me to a neurologist for treatment of nerve pain in my arm. Although my visit was planned primarily for a blood test for arthritis medications i believe he looked at all of my health issues and fully addressed them.

I am very pleased with my association with Dr Worthing as his patient. I especially like that he is truly a patient advocate in his work with the drug/insurance companies re: the need to have cost effective treatments made available to patients. He answers all of my questions and provides me with options and I feel he is monitoring me/my conditon appropriately. Calls re: abnormal labs are received in a timely fashion. Waits are at times 30-40 min. but... he takes his time with me, so thats OK.

I've been a patient of Dr. Worthing for around 15 years. He is an excellent doctor, his knowledge of the field is expansive, he seems to be constantly involved in studies and is up to date with most things going on in the field. He's professional, kind and listens to me when I'm talking. I do sense he is a bit rushed, but I've never felt that he was pushing me out the door. His staf, likewise, are efficient and nice. I would recommend him highly.

×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Worthing?
Dr. Worthing was nice at first but ultimately not empathetic. I had severe thumb arthritis and was prescribed PT. Financial difficulties at the time prevented me from doing PT so went to a highly rated hand specialist in the DC area who told me that the deformity in my hands would not respond to PT and the only options were splints or surgery, confirmed by another highly rated DC hand surgeon. I tried to follow up with Dr. Worthing but was told I was dropped from the practice. Don't recommend!
