Dr. Anika Denali Luengo, MD

I had an in-office cervical ablation performed by Dr. Denali Luengo. The pain medication that I was given did not seem to do anything, but the dr. and nurses did not halt the procedure or take measures to ensure my comfort level. After the extremely painful procedure I went into shock. The nurse cleaned up the office while I lied on the medical bed. Everyone else in the office left for the evening, including the dr. I finally got up off the table myself, still shaking, dressed and left the empty and dark office. The pain medication I was given to take at home had no effect and I was in excruciating pain at home. I did not feel cared for at all. When I told the dr. about my experience at my follow-up appt I got basically a shrug and that's weird. I was left feeling gaslit and uncared for. Dr. Denali did say that usually this procedure takes place in the hospital, but I do not think that my experience should have been allowed to continue when the pain meds were obviously not working.

She is probably great a delivering an uncomplicated pregnancy but when it comes to gynecology she has limited knowledge. She actually laughed at me in her office regarding endometriosis. Said it was IBS even though she was presented with a full negative GI workup. Thankfully I found a real gynecologist who diagnosed and excised a large amount of endo tissue that little Anika didn't believe existed. She actually said several times during my visit, quite smugly, "I just don't believe it" regarding my endometriosis. Now she is a hospitalist at Legacy and i feel worried and sad for anyone admitted under her service.

Dr Anika is great. She just make you feel secure and comfortable. She is friendly and very respectful, and she speak very good Spanish wich is a plus.

A wonderful doctor! She is prompt, capable, friendly, and really listens to your concerns and guesses about what could be going wrong.
