First, the doctor did not extend his hand to shake mine when we first met. Second, when I did not feel like discussing something from my childhood he asked me then why are you here paying me? (While laughing) Third, he asked me what my capacity was. I asked capacity? He said yes Your Capacity, what do you do for a living, what is your job? I find it hard to pay somebody $250 an hour if they don't know the difference between capacity and occupation.

I waited over an hour in the waiting room for Dr. Swarup. He never shook my hand, he never asked my name or said my name (I'm the patient's mom), he never introduced me to the nurse practitioner sitting in, and he was rude to my son. We were only in the room 20 minutes. He basically said my husband and I are bad parents, the school my son attend is wrong that he is having problems, everyone is wrong that he is having problems, and he will see us in 2 months for a follow up. Ridiculous.

My son and I walked in full of hope that he might finally get some help for what his psychologist believed and we observed as ADD & EF challenges. We were immediately put on the defensive. Dr. Swarup made unwarranted assumptions about my son and said that his difficulty in consistent focus was his choice and not a sign of ADD. How could he know that in the few minutes he spent talking rather than listening. He was offensive in manner. My son walked out of the session. I was pretty pissed too.

I think he was very professional-reviewed Sara's Hx and meds. He explained that part of her lack of focus may be due to un-resolved grief issues. Related more to Depression than ADD right now. I as her mom and an experienced RN in the field of Psych; told him of my frustration with her lack of progress, including individual therapy. Perhaps wellbutrin could have been added. I just saw my VERY smart girl declining and I had to intervene by having her assessed at Grn Oaks. Will rtn to metocare.
