Best Ankle and Foot Doc Around
I have been a patient of Dr. Kadakia for almost 10 years now. I have severely deformed feet and he is the only person I will trust to even touch them. Dr. Kadakia is in a class all his own because not only is he incredibly kind and caring, he is an amazing surgeon and he does not defer to the usual cut first ask questions later that many surgeons do. He is always attentive and caring and his entire team follows suit. He has preformed incredibly complex surgeries on me, I have had a total of 3 with him so far and will have another 2 at least in the future. He has single handedly kept me out of a wheelchair and has gone above and beyond every single time, his nurse Michelle is also an angel on earth. When my father hurt his ankle and was unable to see him due to insurance issues Dr. Kadakia referred him to an old student of his and followed up to see how my father was doing during his recovery. If he does that for someone who isn't even his patient imagine what he will do for you!

I am BEYOND GRATEFUL
Dr. Kadakia is the absolute best! I cannot say enough positive things about him, or his team. After almost being killed by a wrong-way drunk driver in 2014, Dr. Kadakia was called (the first hospital had missed it) to evaluate my right foot due to a fracture in my R calcaneus. He consulted, but opted to not do surgery due to the critical state I was in and also because he believed my foot would heal on its own. He was right. He and his team have consulted for me since the crash as I also suffered a horrific spinal cord injury and needed support as I relearned to walk. They have written scripts for ankle-foot orthothes and PT. At 6-years post-crash, I decided to go back to Dr. Kadakia because I realized I did not need to continue living with chronic ankle instability&pain after relearning to walk. He consulted &came up with a surgical plan that we both were comfortable with. He has successfully fixed both feet &I couldn’t be more grateful for more stability than I ever thought possible.

My surgery
There are few doctors that I have found, that take the time to listen and then perform, with great expertise, the surgery needed to remedy the patients problem. Dr. Anish Kadakia is one of these doctors. Not only is Dr. Kadakia extremely qualified in his field, but his kindness, patience, and genuine caring for his patients , is a rare and wonderful thing. I am thrilled to have found him and grateful, so very grateful, for his surgery that will enable me to resume my life without living in pain.

Great communicator, cutting edge surgeon
Out of 4 top chicago ankle surgeons, Dr. Kadakia was the only one who offered an alternative to surgery in the form of platelet rich plasma injections. I had read about this treatment, but didn’t realize I was a perfect candidate until I saw Dr. Kadakia. In addition to being a renowned surgeon, Dr. Kadakia is down to earth and likable. He is a combination of all the great qualities from the other three surgeons I saw plus more!

I have had two surgeries with Dr. Kadakia: R Achilles reconstruction (i.e., allograft with FHL tendon transfer); and L Achilles repair. Not only does he provide excellent clinical care and followup, he also understands the emotional pain of not being able to move in meaningful ways. I will never forget the day that he looked at me while I was crying and stated, "We'll get this fixed." I joke with him: "You have too good of a bedside manner to be a surgeon." Dr. Kadakia is what we all want in a doctor. p.s. His team is equally professional and caring.

Dr. Kadakia took my case after a previous surgeon botched a triple arthrodesis procedure on my clubfoot. Not only did Dr. Kadakia correct the problems with amazing skill; he also provided emotional support and true concern for my overall well being. He was transparent during the COVID-19 situation and recommended that I postpone. His confidence is completely backed up with skill and compassion! He has changed my life for the better!

I broke my ankle in January in a few places and tore some ligaments. Dr. Kadakia was amazingly positive, confident, and reassuring that I would be totally fine and walking in no time after surgery. He did an amazing job and my ankle has healed without issue! Not only is he super upbeat and likeable, he's also the best dressed doctor around! Highly recommend!

Dr. Kadakia was fantastic. I am 30 years old and needed a full reconstruciton of my ankle from a bad basketball injury. It is now 6 months after surgery and I am almost back to 100%. He took his time to explain me the surgery, recovery, rehab and life after. I hope to never have surgery again but if it was necessary, I would work with Kadakia again!

Dr. Kadakia demonstrated elite expertise on the foot/ankle. He had conviction while being open, transparent and patient on explaining possible courses of action and outcomes. The procedure was a success and results consistent with what was represented. He laid out what to do if future issues arose and offered his availability. Overall a tremendous, positive experience.

Before I decided to have the achilles and heel repair, Dr Kadakia provided objective advice in clear detail. Once I decided to go ahead, the entire team--from PAs to anesthesiologists to nurses--all fantastic. And post-surgery, the very careful rehab plan got me back on my feet and improving every week. Six months later, I'm running, biking and swimming again. It starts from the top, and Dr Kadakia not only led a great team, but his skill and care are behind the success.

Dr. Kadakia IS the best of the best. I was in a bad motorcycle accident in 2006 and I asked him to Please talk to me as a common person, not in a medical vocabulary. He did exactly that and made it very easy to understand what would be expected----including being upfront and telling me my leg would never be as good as it was. With the extensive damage that was done, I understood that. He has done a Great job getting it better------but as told to me right upfront--never will be what it was. I appreciate his honesty EVERTIME I have seen him. I was with him when he was in Michigan, and have/will stick with him in Chicago. VERY worth the distance.

I saw several surgeons prior to choosing Dr. Kadakia. A colleague recommended me to Dr. Kadakia. During my initial consult he was very straight forward regarding surgical options, and always had a back up plan which I found comfort in. He took into consideration my age, active lifestyle and selected the surgical option that was best for me. It's been 3 months since surgery and I now have no toe pain. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Kadakia and Northwestern Hospital, both are fantastic!

My second toe was hurting, from a previous operation. He said he would take care of that and the 3 toes next to the second toe. He said that they were hammer toes and they were not. The toes on my left foot are the same and they have not been diagnosed as hammertoes. Anyway this was done in 2013 and I put my foot in cold water every night to numb my foot. The last time I sa Dr. Kadakia, he said “I really f*** up this one.” And thenl“I’ve only done this twice, both on old people.
