My wife was admitted to OB triage via the ER as she was having severe GI issues. Dr. Kaimal told us it wasn't serious and that she wouldn't contact GI on the weekend and that we should just schedule a regular GI appointment with MGH. Over the next week we tried to get a GI appointment at MGH or anywhere local. We didn't have any luck no matter what we did. Finally, on Friday we heard from a local GI resource and he said we ABSOLUTELY needed to go to the ER immediately. Now we're back at OB triage and Dr. Kaimal walks through the door again. She says, why do you keep coming in on the weekends? It's not worth consulting GI as this isn't serious and they aren't going to do anything. We pretty much refuse to leave until she contacts GI. Finally, we see GI and they say my wife needs an emergency procedure and schedule her first thing the next morning. Had we listened to Dr. Kaimal's aggressive, dismissive and condescending bedside manner we may have lost our child.
