DANGEROUS & CARELESS!!
This so called Dr is DANGEROUS. He's done numerous spine surgeries on me. Last one Crippled me! I've had a Spinal Cord Stimulator that did not work. I now see an amazing Dr. in Mayo Clinic that really cares. He said he can't correct all the DAMAGE that Dr. Guanciale has done after doing MRI'S & xrays ect. He said last resort Is a Pain Pump. I had the trial & it worked so he put in a permanent Pain Pump. It is helping the chronic pain alot. All the pain isn't gone but at least I can get around without a wheelchair or cane. All I can say is Dr. G should not be allowed to operate on people. I think his 'EGO' which is completely out of control is really hurting alot of people or crippling them like myself. He needs a class on his horrible bedside manner also. I can't believe I actually trusted this guy! Hopefully he will RETIRE SOON before he kills someone.

Dr. G. is the spine surgeon I want operating 100%
He listened to my feedback on what symptoms I was having and what has changed since my last visit. He had reviewed my MRI and took time to show me the area's of concern and discussed a couple options we could take. He's previously done a neck and back surgery which alleviated all my issues and returned me to a normal, pain free life. Spine surgery is a serious matter than can go badly in the wrong hands. He's been my Spine doc for over 40 years and always solved the issue in the least invasive way. Because of him, my back problems that I developed when my daughter was 2, did not prevent me from being the dad I wanted to be for her. Coaching her softball teams and basketball teams, doing normal activities with her dad is how my daughter remembers her childhood. She's 22 now and she didn't miss a thing, thanks to Dr. Guanciale.

Dr. Guanciale has done four surgeries on my back. He also diagnosed me with a very rare neurological disease 25 years ago, when I had been referred to ten other doctors over two months for it. Everyone had a different diagnosis! But Dr. Guanciale diagnosed me at my first appointment! When I needed back surgery years later, it was a no-brainer to go to him. Exceptional surgeon, very intelligent, maybe sometimes moody LOL, but Dr G is a wizard in the OR! I will always go to him for spinal surgeries!

Dr. Guanciale is hands down the best! My son (20 years old) had to have spinal fusion and herniated discs removed. Dr. Guanciale was very thorough during each office visit prior to his surgery, and was such a calming presence the day of his surgery. He put all my worries to rest and was very supportive post surgery. He answered our phone calls personally, and made sure we didn’t have any lingering questions before we ended each phone call. (One call was VERY early in the morning, too!) I would not hesitate to go back to Dr. Guanciale in the future, and have recommended him to several people! He truly is the BEST!!

Heart patients beware. Had to use crutches to go to my 1 yr follow up visit. He ignored my failed surgery symptoms to tell me about his work. When asked for help to walk he did not answer and walked out of room like a spoiled child. He has signed my death cert. The stress and depression of his life altering surgery has intensified my heart failure. Over 2 yrs later, still unable to walk without walker. He made his money. I got a death sentence. I should have read the negative comments before allowing him near me. Run away fast.

Dr.Guanciale did a multilevel lower spine fusion on me. I never got any better, pain is still there the same. Almost a year has gone by. He personally blames me now for still being in pain because the surgery wasn't what he expected, "surgery was too much for him to handle" he actually said to me. Yes it's true he avoids eye contact and can be overly rude as well as his staff too. He's always 1-2 hours late for your scheduled appointment which shows he doesn't respect his patients, avoid Dr G.

My initial appointment with Dr. Guanciale was incredibly horrible. He was VERY arrogant and wanted to blame all my issues on smoking, even the reddish/blond patch that I have in my mustache was according to him, stains from smoking (NOT!!) I've had that since way before I smoked. He made very little eye contact with me during our appointment, and wanted to look at the limp I had from hip surgery, which I wasn't there for. And, surprisingly, had someone there selling shoe lifts for $15.00.

This Doctor did a cervical fusion without reviewing the MRI he ordered. I told him about hand swelling and he told me to eat less salt. One month after the fusion I was diagnosed with RA which explained all of my symptoms. Needless surgery and horrible Doctor.

Excellent job on my back relating to herniated disc surgery - no more pain! He also followed up with a recommendation to a physical therapy program to build up strength to maintain a pain free state. His staff was most efficient in all aspects of scheduling the procedure. Very pleased with my outcome

In September 2015 I had Dr Guanciale for L4-L5 L5-S1 360 spinal fusion surgery(as well as some other smaller things that went along with it). I had severe pain in lower back/upper buttocks with numbness down my leg. I have to say Dr Guanciale is a wonderful surgeon. I have zero of the symptoms I had prior to my surgery. I won't candy coat it and tell you that it's a breeze, it's not. I don't usually write reviews but felt the need because Dr Guanciale gave me my life back.
