Excellent!
Dr. Spina was excellent at explaining my diagnosis and plan of care. He was good with my husband also, who came with me several times. Staff was extremely kind. As a retired R.N. I could fine NOTHING wrong with the 2 surgical procedures I required to fix my jaw. Dr. Spina was willing to try conservative treatment before surgery. His billing department also was good at billing Medicare.

Special Needs Patient
Dr. Spina took excellent care of our daughter, making an extra effort to take in to account her developmental disabilities and medical issues in removing four wisdom teeth. And he and his staff were very responsive post surgery. Friendly, kind and highly competent.

Called and placed on hold by initial intake. Received return call from initial intake and repeatedly supplied the same information. Refused assistance to verify coverage but instead transferred to manager. Mentioned wait time and refusal to verify coverage. Manager disconnected call. Will report this office for poor registration and management. Do not expect good patient assistance and respect from this staff. They should be replaced with patient centric staff and management. My doctor has been notified and this complaint will be filed with BBB and other dental associations.

Great Job
My 11-year-old's orthodontist referred Dr. Spina for oral surgery. What can I say? Dr. Spina and the staff were professional, courteous, and patiently communicated every detail of the procedure. In 20 minutes he removed two teeth and my daughter was on her feet and out the door in good spirits. After the anesthesia wore off at home, she experienced little discomfort and was back at school the next day. We highly recommend Dr. Spina.

Unprofessional
He was very rushed throughout the entire process of removing my wisdom teeth. I had to continually ask questions due to the fact that he and the nursing staff did not provide me with adequate information about my surgery and how I needed to act afterword. Terrible wait times and it’s clear that he is overbooked and rushing during surgery. I began to lose trust in the doctor over time due to his unprofessionalism and lack of care for the patient. He was not clear with me and continually sugarcoated what was going to happen.

The best ever
He was running very behind but I was kept informed from the beginning which is rare. When he came in very apologetic and professional. Procedure was the best experience I’ve ever had at a dental office. I have never left a review on anything in my life. This experience made me obligated too. It really was a positive experience.

From the moment I checked in with the girls at the front desk, the amazing nursing/radiology staff and of course Dr Spina… they all Put me at ease… the surgery was seamless…this was by far the most positive experience for this very nervous anxious patient! I highly recommend this practice and Dr Spina. I had closer oral surgeons recommended to me by my dentist but followed a rec from a friend and I’m so glad I did.. will always go here moving forward..

My experience at Chicago Surgical Specialists was more than I expected. At age 82 I was apprehensive about the procedure of extracting an infected molar. My blood pressure rose to SYS 195. The dr’s nurse assistant assured me all will be ok. I was given Novocain and waited for the procedure. Dr Spina came in and I was told to open wide. The next voice I heard was Dr Spina saying “it’s all out.” I never felt a thing. Thank you Dr Spina for making this experience…which I dreaded…something I can tell my family and friends about when they need the best place to go for their surgical needs.

I had to have a tooth that once had a root canal done, plus, was under a bridge. I thought I would have to be put out for the procedure, but Dr. Spina said that wouldn't be necessary, it would only take him about 10 minutes to remove the tooth. He was right, it may have taken him slightly longer, but not much. He did an excellent job, I felt absolutely no pain, he stitched it up very nicely and I healed very well. Dr. Spina and his staff made me feel very comfortable and reassured, everyone was so nice! I would highly recommend him!

My visit with Dr. Spina when very well and because I have had some past procedures turn into a major problem where I had to spend 3 days and nights in intensive care with a morphine drip, with a infection. I have a hard time allowing myself to have any extractions done with out being having a sedative administered. to Dr. Spina was the perfect visit for a patient such as myself. Dr. Spina was so professional and understanding of my upfront anxiety, that he was able to put me ease with just his words and before I knew it my very infected molar was extracted. His professionalism was only matched by his competent assistant nurses and every one I spoke with the his office. I cannot say enough about Danielle, Dawn, Lori, and Fabrina. They were in contact with me each day to make sure I was okay and following the directions they had given me to insure a solid recovery. So thoughtful and encouraging they all were. Thank you ladies for doing your jobs so well.

Office did not ask the right questions before having me to admitted to the hospital for a procedure. Insurance did not pay any of my bill that was over $20,000. Not to mention all the complications from my surgery that Dr. Spina did not handle appropriately. The worst of the worst. Steer clear

Dr. Spina is truly the best oral surgeon around. I had a surgery done with him my freshman year of high school, and I just got my wisdom teeth removed with him today. I was absolutely terrified for both procedures, but him and his staff made me feel so comfortable and taken care of. He cares greatly for all of his patients and has a very reassuring and confident bedside manner. I would never go to anyone else if I needed any other work done. 10/10 recommend him hands down.
