Dr. Picon took the time to explain and even draw sketches of the surgery he was going to perform on my father. We were very nervous but after he explained what he was doing we felt relieved. It was a very risky surgery but everything went well. He even took the time afterwards to explain what he did and how the surgery went. I highly recommend Dr. Picon.

Dr Picon is an excellent surgeon --calm, cool, collected--and obviously a skilled expert in his field. His surgical team (residents and attendings at SIUH North) are top notch. If you're going to end up at Staten Island University Hospital North for a surgery, be admitted under Dr. Picon's surgery service. He called my mom before her surgery to see if she had any questions, he also got in touch with her Advanced GI team to make sure they were aware of her status prior to admittance. The BEST.
