Dr. Antonio Serna IV, MD

All staff from entry to finish were extremely professional, competent and delightful.

Appointment was at 9:15, was told to be there early to fill out paperwork. Got there early and was done with all paperwork before 9:15. Waiting room was packed and didn’t even see the doctor until 10:40. He spent 5 minutes listening and then sent me to another waiting room for a take home packet and to get scheduled for a colonoscopy. Took until 11:15 for me to finally get everything, which made me late to a work call.He seemed friendly enough, but I don’t have time for doctors that don’t know how to respect their patient’s time.

Dr. Serna is good. The scheduling department needs to schedule better. My appointment was at 3:30 and they said to be there 30 minutes before. I got there early. Signed in and didn’t see the doctor until after 5 pm.

He is a great doctor who really cares about you and your health needs. Answers all your questions and follows up with you to make sure everything is okay after treatment. A very competent, pleasant, and empathetic doctor.

As always, Dr. Serna listens and is very understanding of the problem. He seems to care about you and wants to help make you feel better. I’ve been seeing him for many years. He has performed several colonoscopies and EGD’s on my husband and myself. My husband and I think he is wonderful.

The first time I met Dr Serna was at the Baptist Mission Trail hospital I had a liver biopsy and my liver started to bleed this was in 2017. Then I had a liver biopsy in 2021 and wound up at the Methodist Metropolitan hospital with a bleeding liver and again my doctor was Dr. Serna. What a coincidence, so I decided to have him be my G.I. doctor, because he has taken very good care of me. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

This man is an absolute monster. Rude and entitled. If you happen to have him as a doctor, I recommend you request another one.

I was in Methodist Metropolitan ICU 2 days and a normal room a 3rd. I saw Dr. Serna for 3 minutes on the 1st day, from across the room before an endoscopy, and that's it. (He stiffed me when escorted to my car.) Calling his office to set up a follow-up, staff were unhelpful and wanted me to fill out a whole new patient case. He didn't communicate with nurses and they frequently guessed at what was happening. I also had to -request- that he endoscopy my stomach since he wanted only colonoscopy.
