Rushed
It took me 4 months to get this appointment, she was in a hurry. She spent seven minutes with me and that included an exam.

Dr. Fox to the rescue after 8 years.
After 8 years of looking for a specialist and trying three others, I finally found Dr. Fox. Her and her staff have been nothing short of a miracle.

Dr. Fox is a rock star.
Dr. Fox saved my life. I am 4 years post colorectal cancer. She is an incredible doctor. I highly recommend her. To respond to some of the comments on this page, I have never had to wait an unreasonable amount of time for any appointment or procedure that I have had with her over the last 4 years. If anyone has had any unusual delay, I am confident it was because she conducting a life saving surgery. Her bedside manner is direct, but not offensive in anyway. She is not going to sugar coat anything. She is a surgeon. Not a social worker. Her staff is also fabulous. They are very responsive and helpful. You cannot have a better doctor.

Wait takes forever. Dr. Fox has poor bedside manner. She always seems very rushed and seems annoyed when questions are asked. Had a colonoscopy and other surgeries over the past two years and usually doctors come by to say hi and go over things, she did not -- nowhere to be seen. Also, the office didn't work with an in-network lab and I tried to work with Dr. Fox's assistant and she literally stopped accepting my calls. Quite disappointed with Dr. Fox and the whole experience.

Disappointing
It look like she put a timer on her watch during the office visit. I felt rushed and like she was not interested in understanding what could be my issues and how to resolve. There were items I went over with the assistant that she didn’t even ask me about. It made me second guess using her for something more complex like surgery.

Excellent. I was referred to Dr. Fox for removal of cancerous rectal tumor. From the first visit she was honest, straightforward, and clear about my options and my outlook. She performed the surgery and was successful. Hospitalized during Covid so wife couldn't visit. When Dr, Fox visited me morning after surgery, first she did was to Facetime with my wife from my hospital room so my wife could feel like she was there when Dr. Fox gave me the good news. I'd give her 10 stars if I could.

I had an extremely positive experience with Dr. April Fox getting a preventative colonoscopy for the first time now that I’m 50 and highly recommend her! I had been scared of this procedure and kept “putting it off.” I finally went to see Dr. Fox and shared my concerns. She kindly and thoughtfully addressed my issues, and I felt comfortable scheduling the procedure. The procedure itself was painless, easy, and no big deal at all. I actually woke up and it was over with. I feel so relieved. Her entire staff was kind, friendly, and supportive and kept this low stress for me. I highly recommend Dr. Fox!

April Fox was thorough and professional. The colonoscopy I had was low stress, the staff was great and the anesthesiologist was excellent. I liked her a lot. She answered all my questions, didn't seem to be in a hurry and the procedure went exactly as she said it would. I have to go back every three years so we will be seeing one another regularly.

Dr Fox is an excellent surgeon and physician. She accepted my wife in transfer from another hospital and immediately took over her care. She attempted to treat her conservatively but after everything failed took to her to surgery. Her postop care has been outstanding. She is a caring highly skilled physician, has kept us informed every step of the way and I highly recommend her. As a physician and a husband I’m glad she is taking care of my wife.

I was recommended to see April Fox for a skin tag. She said she was going to take a LOOL and that is all that she said to me. She took a look and said I was perfectly fine, but I could get it removed. I did not. I checked w/ my insurance and they confirmed the visit would be covered. April did not once explain she was doing an "anoscopy" on me. VERY MISLEADING and it resulted in a $400 charge. Someone as young as I am does not need this done on them. Very disappointed. I went for a skin tag!!

Dissapointed Patient in Austin, TX – Mar 25, 2019
×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Fox?
Dr. Fox is amazing. My 30 y o son has colorectal cancer and she is the surgeon. Dr. Fox is competent: she has his chart memorized and is able to discuss what is going on with us in detail. I feel my son is in such good hands. Her bedside manner and her concern are excellent. She said she chose this area of medicine b/c she can use robotics and save lives. That she has done for us. I am eternally grateful to her for her skills and compassion.

April Fox took over my medical care from top colon surgeon in Australia. She is excellent - friendly, fast, thorough, and professional. She was super careful. The colonoscopies I had done with her were very easy, and her anesthetist is VERY good. I would not hesitate to recommend her. She's everything you want an expert to be.
