Dr. Araz Tawfique, MD

Dr. Tawfique is listed on multiple residential facilities as the medical director who supposedly supervises the work of nurse practitioners at these programs. One of them is Neurish Wellness where he claims to oversee NP Corey Cabulagan who is a highly irresponsible prescriber who prescribed 6mg of alprazolam per day starting on day 3 of program treatment for a patient who has a known history of alprazolam addiction, who was in an acutely manic state. Normally he would not even ask for alprazolam because he knows that is bad news but he was manic not thinking about risks and in a vulnerable state. NP Corey took advantage of the patient in this state and happily agreed to write him 6mg per day of alprazolam claiming it was okay because they could taper him off. I begged him not to do this but he did not care. The program is not a locked facility so he could walk out manic AND relapsed on alprazolam and then what? Dr. Tawfique the medical director was unreachable.

It was difficult to get an appointment but worth the wait.

Dr. Araz is a compassionate, extremely intelligent, and competent physician. He listens clearly and answers directly. I wish there were more physicians like Dr. Araz.

Grossly misunderstood my symptoms and circumstance.

I waited three weeks before I was seen and considered canceling my appointment. I’m glad I didn’t. He was well informed, considerate, and gave me a new perspective on my depression. Thank you Dr Tawfique.

His office immediately hung up on me after I gave them my name and now is disconnecting my calls before picking up. I guess that means he isn't accepting new patients, despite the website saying he is. Would it kill you to just say, "Sorry we're not accepting new patients" rather than just hanging up on me? Like that's just rude. Obviously, I wouldn't recommend this doctor to anyone.

I highly recommend Dr. Tawfique. He is very compassionate, sincere, and patient! And mostly importantly, you can get in to see him early.

I was referred to Dr Tawfique by my psychiatrist after she became ill. I was saddened to loose my old psychiatrist and didn't think I'd find the same connection with anyone else. I'm pleased to say I have found that connection and I look forward to seeing him regularly.

Very warm and understanding and knowledgeable about medications

I have taken medications for depression and anxiety and wanted alternative treatment. Dr Tawfique helped me deal with my issues without medications and I am very grateful to him. I saw him for a year and have recommended family and friends.

I saw Dr Tawfique for over a year and found him to be intelligent and caring. I would have continued to see him if I didn?t have to move for work.

Helpful at first and then impossible to get ahold of and extremely unprofessional in practice.
