This is the most fantastic weight and wellness center in Arizona! Dr. Surkunte is knowledgeable, caring and understands the medical, social, scientific and behavior challenges of losing weight. I have started incorporating so many new foods and plants in my meals that I never knew I could. And now with Dr Surkunte's guidance I feel like I am nourishing my body and not punishing myself. She is the most understanding doctor I have met. Through her expertise and guidance, I have loss more than 50 lbs and feel better than ever.I no longer feel tires or out of breath. My back pain and Knee pain has improved significantly. My struggle with my health started when I turned 40. I am a normal weight person but always felt tired in the last few years. I was told I have prediabetes and high cholesterol and to eat less and move more by my PCP. I am a normal weight person. I wanted more guidance over what I have to do. I started seeing Dr. Surkunte at NewVivaMD.She explained to me that I am normal weight but there are several other factors that determine my overall health and did a thorough evaluation and created a treatment plan for me. Since then changed my lifestyle and nutrition as per her guidance. My prediabetes is now reversed. I feel very confident about my health and my goals. Dr Surkunte is very good at listening to the patient and explaining the plan of treatment. She takes time to answer any questions, is very knowledgeable and can be trusted in her decisions.

She has a good personality but lacks the necessary experience in addressing patient concerns and issues. Her remedy/recommendations are in haste and without much thought.

Dr. Surkente MD is a care giver who truly cares, is informative, knowledgable and willing to take the time to explain as well as not just listen but actually hear. We have been with her since she came to the Power Rd. Location. When she relocated to the Dobson location our only intelligent choice was to follow due to her professionalism and excellent care. We would highly recommend.
