Phenomenal doctor

Dr. Shah has been my cardiologist for the past several years. I am very satisfied with the care he has given me. He comes to my appointments well prepared. He is a good listener. He clearly answers all my questions. I have always found him to be professional, respectful, and trustworthy.

Arrogant and Rude
MGB should not allow this doctor to meet with patients. He is rude, crude and ignorant. Doesn't let you ask a question and if MAYBE you can get a word in he basically tells you your to stupid to understand and not wasting his time trying to and actually stated he is best cardiologist MGB has and I should grateful he is willing to see me. I got up said I was finding another cardiologist and walked out on him.

Not good with humans
My mom saw Dr. Shah for a consult. I sat in because she gets flustered & forgets things. She had an EKG, then he came in. After her history, she asked him for the EKG results. He said, 'It would be too hard to explain.' She asked if they were good or bad, he said, 'Abnormal, but that's to be expected.' ?? She'd never seen a cardiologist, was visibly alarmed, so asked him to explain. He said it would be a waste of time to explain. ?? I could see that my mom was really frustrated & flustered, so I asked, 'In layman's terms, can you either explain the results, or what abnormal means?' Dr. Shah said, 'I could explain it, but I know you wouldn't understand what I was saying.'A) You give a patient a test, you tell them the results. FIND a way to explain it. B) You say the results are abnormal, but explaining would be a ?? waste of time ??This was one of MANY things that went wrong with Dr. Shah. FYI, my mom got in the car, & started apologizing and crying. Not exactly heart healthy.

Worst physician ever!
I couldn't agree more with the previous comment. My husband and I had the same terrible experience. He is extremely unprofessional, rude, egotistical, confrontational and condescending. We had questions about a medication he prescribed for my husband that was 4X the correct dose, he acted outraged that we would DARE to question him and became very confrontational. He had the nerve to say to us "I don't want to play the God card, but I saved your husband's life". He went on and on about how he was the best care my husband could get and that you would need to drive into Boston to get the same kind of care. He should stick to saving lives and not treating patients after they have had a heart attack because he might physically hurt them in the end with his attitude or lack of adequate care!

If I could leave less than 1 star, I would. Very unprofessional and rude. We had questions about a med he prescribed for my husband, and he acted outraged that we would DARE to question him. He was confrontational and condescending. When I tried to explain our questions, he shut me down and told my husband to either find a new doctor or come without me. He even called a nurse in as a “witness” but she walked out when she saw how absurd it was. ??. He went on and on about how he was the best care my husband could get if he wanted to get well. Ironically, the med we were questioning had been left out of the prescriptions he sent to the pharmacy. I had to call his office about it, and when he checked into it he discovered he had mistakenly prescribed another med at 4X the correct dose! What if I hadn’t called? My husband had already taken the wrong dose once by then. Dr. Shah may have some medical knowledge but no people skills. Very arrogant and egotistical.
