I saw Dr. Limkemann after my kidney transplant. I was amazed how confidently she advocated what was absolutely wrong, which was supported by my Nephrologist on my next visit. This person seems extremely arrogant and condescending. I wonder if she is like this to her colleagues also. My Nephrologist at OSU did not seem too impressed by her either. I would not recommend her to anyone.

I recently underwent a liver transplant at OSU. My 25 day hospital stay ranged from the very good to umm, not so good. One aspect of the experience was always very good, very positive, day in and day out. That was my surgeon, Dr. Limkemann. She did an absolutely excellent job, I was so happy to have her as my surgeon. Her caring and concern were sincere, and I always felt that I was treated as a person, not just a disease or a problem that had to be fixed. She never complained, but she was always very encouraging to me, always very positive. She kept me going when I was about ready to throw in the towel at times. My recovery was much faster and with much less pain than I expected. It encouraged me to work even harder, I could feel myself getting stronger every day. What a remarkable experience. Not at all what I expected. Dr. Limkemann really is excellent at what she does, I consider myself exceedingly lucky to have had her as my surgeon. -S Bohn

Dr Limkemann's arrogance is astonishing. She believes she knows everything and is better than everyone else - including other doctors who are specialists in their respective areas. She will not listen to the patient or support persons and does not like anyone to ask questions. Her idea of a conversation is her delivering a message to you and nothing more. This is derived from the fact that she does not bother to inform herself of the patient's current test results and other care. She simply knows what high level information a resident or nurse practitioner tells her. Therefore she cannot have a discussion. Do not fall for her mission statement including "I treat every patient as if they were one of my family members. It’s my priority that both the patient and support system understand all treatment options and that together as a team we choose the best options." It is more like a working goal to improve her weakness at best.
