Dr. Ashok Patel, MD

Bio Behavioral Health is unreliable to get appropriate appointment times during COVID, especially during the last few weeks upon unforeseen circumstances. Dr. Patel is retiring and closing his clinical practice at Bio Behavioral Health in a few weeks, but is still continuing research clinical trials instead of regular medication management for clients. The office staff does not handle questions and concerns with proper care, common courtesy, and empathy to those with mental health issues who cannot find appropriate continued care with another physician. Communication is very difficult as I am not able to speak to my prescriber, Judith Kern who is in the same office. They will not allow me to. As an advocate for my mental health who has an understanding for others who deal with common struggles with their mental health, this is unacceptable to the mental health community. We are being advised to seek out help in the meantime at the local hospital’s crisis unit for medication adjustments

My visits are very important to Dr. Patel. His focus is on your personal well-being, and how are you feeling. He asks many questions about your health. He is devoted to seeing his patients get the very best possible care. I suffer from major depression, and I don't know if I would would have recovered from my illness, with out him. I had phycho-motor retardation. This is total melt down. I am very greatful to find him, and most of all his expertise.

I can't say enough good things about Bio Behavioral Health.. The staff is always pleasant and aways ready to answer any questions and concerns. Ms. Judy Kern is the best. I don't know what I would do without her. She is so understanding and cares for your well-being. She always returns your phone calls and takes her time to talk to you. I am so glad I found such a wonderful place. I have also seen Dr Patel and he is also a very understanding and a wonderful person. Everyone there is great!

Dr. Patel and Judy are just great! They really listen and are sincere and work with me on if something is not working with my medicines. I always feel better when I leave their office.

Very friendly staff from the moment you walk in the front door. You are always greeted with a smile and are treated kindly from the whole staff. I have been going to Dr. Patel for about 11 years and I have never had a problem getting an appointment.

Dr. Patel is pleasant, and understanding. I have had a 20 plus year relationship with him. I moved to Florida for 1 year and after returning to NJ I called and tried to make a appointment and was told it was over a year since I had been there and they were not accepting new patients. After 20 years! The receptionist that I dealt with for all those years and tolerated her abrasive personality did not care about my past and long relationship with my doctor and her boss. She is terrible, don't go!
