Dr. Ashton Thompson, DO

I recently met with Dr. Thompson via video conferencing. As an older person I was nervous about using this technology to meet with someone who was in a position to help me make changes in my life. Also, I completed the client data and sent it to him via email. Again this was very challenging for me. But Dr. Thompson was patient, kind, sensitive and actually listened to me. He understood my personal history and treated me with dignity and respect. Also, he understood my specific issues as a gay feminine man and never once judged me. It was a relief to be cared for by a professional who took the time to listen and to actually care about me as his patient. I highly recommend Dr. Thompson!

I love Dr. T, he is kind, caring and reliable. The past year of my life has really been a particular trial and he has had to deal with me at my worst, and also with so many issues at once. I could not have survived so much without his assistance and care. I highly recommend him, he is a gem.

Dr. Thompson, thankfully, broke every preconceived notion I had of seeing a psychiatrist! First, when choosing a Doctor to work with I ran in to many that either were not taking new patients or had months long waits. Dr. Thompson saw me in less than a week after my first call to his office. He is extremely easy to talk to and put me at ease immediately. His approach and demeanor helped me to be truly honest with myself. In addition, my expectations of that first visit was that it would be 15 minutes followed by standard prescription. No, we spoke for nearly an hour; and while he did prescribe medication, he also made several recommendations beyond medication that have helped. He also made sure that I understood what I was taking and why he felt it would help me. Follow-up visits have been very good as well. Some shorter than others, but, I never feel rushed. Most importantly I feel that I am heard and understood every time.

Great guy! Easy to get to know. He gets right down to business and really helps pinpoint the issues. He also listens well and wears great socks!
