Our family has worked with Dr. Patkar for over 4 years. He has been instrumental in helping our loved ones get their life together. He is super knowledgeable of current treatments and offers a variety of innovative options to help the patient achieve the desired outcomes. I have referred friends to see him and happy to hear similar experiences. He has made himself available for questions and responses. He is without a doubt one of the best physicians in his class.

Extremely knowledgeable and helpful with Alcohol and Drug dependency problems. I also have problems with OCD and depression and he has given me medication and coping tools which have been very helpful. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Patkar is absolutely the most knowledgeable doctor I've ever known. I've been a patient of his for many years, and I am constantly impressed with his knowledge and with the care that he's provided me. I feel exceptionally fortunate to be a patient of his.

Dr. Ashwin Patkar entered my recovery journey when I was unstable and at the brink of death over 10 years ago. Through many episodes of relapse, mental instability and setbacks including the death of my teenage daughter he refused to give up on me.
At a particularly low time in my recovery he said, "No matter what happens I will always be your doctor." He is a skilful clinician and genuinely cares for the whole person.

Since I have come under his care, my overall quality of life has increased ten-fold. I have been able to successfully maintain a full time job, full time school, while being a father and husband. Anxiety, addiction, drug abuse are no longer the determining factors of my day. His approach is sincere, approachable, kind, respectful, and intellectual. In my opinion, he is the best there is. Doctors of this caliber are a rarity today, and I highly recommend his treatment.

Dr. Patkar is a leader in his field an excellent listener a no nonsense type of person (in a good way) incredible with medication and getting to the core problem that a person might be dealing with !!! I've been a patient for a decade now and I would not be writing this if it wasn't for him, I would not be alive due to my condition !! I've always felt extremely comfortable telling him how I feel and what might be bothering me !!! I've never felt judged or I ashamed in his presence!!

After 40 years of suffering, Dr. Patkar was the only psychiatrist who diagnosed me correctly with bipolar disorder. He was compassionate, even giving me a book to read written by a psychiatrist at Johns Hopkins w/BP, which helped me adjust and rid myself of the stigma I felt having BP. The treatment regimen he prescribed is still working 7 years later. I now live in Asia and the psychiatrist I see in Hong Kong has maintained my treatment plan.
