Hernia repair
I had my third right-side inguinal hernia repair in May 2024, the first by Dr Khan. The next day I was able to walk without being stooped over, a great relief. Full recovery took several months of course ( I'm nearly 80 yrs old), but I am now back to all activities and have no pain or discomfort.Thank you Dr Khan for your excellent care.

Minimally invasive (laparoscopic) surgery, hernia repair, by Dr Khan and his team at Emerson Hospital was as described in every respect. There was little need for paint medication, none after 24 hours and iced for three days.Allowed to leave the hospital about 2.5 hours after surgery, walking easily. Questions answered clearly before and after procedure and at the two week follow up.

Thank you
I could not be happier with the results of laparoscopic Inguinal hernia surgery performed by Dr Kahn. The surgery was straightforward and the recovery has been quite remarkable. The procedure was performed later in the day and I was discharged roughly 2.5 hours later. As a patient in my 60’s, I was walking without issue the same evening. I took a minimal amount of Acetaminophen/Ibuprofen the first evening and the following two days, then stopped the pain meds completely on the 3rd day. I also iced as was instructed for a couple of days. Within 20 hours of surgery I went for a mile and a half walk and was up to 3.5 miles on day 6. I held off having the surgery for 6-7 years out of concerns going through the procedure. I now regret dealing with the hernia for so long. I am very grateful to Dr Kahn, the attending anesthesiologist and anesthetists, and certainly all the wonderful nurses at the Emerson Hospital Clough Surgical Center.

THE best experience I've had in a doctors' office in a very long time!! The staff was warm and welcoming and made me feel calm and comfortable. Dr. Khan was attentive, efficient and actually listened to my concerns and fears and made me feel at ease. He answered all my questions honestly and without any hesitation. I ended up having a small procedure in the office thereby avoiding waiting for an OR opening and having to go through all the pre-steps to surgery. He listens - that's huge these days. I highly recommend Dr. Khan.

I needed surgery to correct a inguinal hernia. I am 75 years old. Dr Kahn was the surgeon. Pre surgery information from his surgical staff made me well prepared for the surgery. I entered the operating room at 10:00 AM. The surgery was completed without complications in approximately one hour and I was home eating lunch by 1:00 PM. I experienced no pain and required no post operation pain medication. From this patient's perspective, Dr Kahn and his surgical team were outstanding in all respects.

I recently found out I would need a colectomy to remove a large polyp. As a stroke survivor, I was petrified at the very idea of surgery. Dr Atif Khan quickly relieved my fears by taking the time to explain patiently and clearly the issues involved. He was able to remove the entire tumor laparoscopically although my paralyzed arm made a laparoscopic surgery harder, yet he did it because it would allow me a faster and easier healing.Dr Khan is caring surgeon who was fully focused on my care!

If I had to experience another Gallbladder removal surgical procedure, I would not look to anyone else in the General Surgery field other than Dr. Kahn. He thoroughly explains every step in his plan to make you feel right again. Thank you Dr. Kahn...in my opinion, he's highly skilled, honest, professional, and he's also a down to earth guy with a pretty good sense of humor.

I visited Dr. Kahn for the first time several months ago. It was a first visit ever for treatment of hemorrhoids, and I was experiencing a painful flare up. The office staff was fine, but not only was Dr. Kahn somewhat terse and impatient with me as I tried to have an actual conversation with him about my overall history, his treatment \ examination was frankly painful and horribly impersonal, I'll spare you the finer details. I now refuse to see this provider.

I arrived in the Emergency Room and needed surgery. Dr Kahn was on call – he explained what needed to be done. The surgery was performed and the recovery time was started. The incision healed well – I was up and about with minimal pain in 2 days – the wait for my bowels to wake up was a different story. All during the process Dr Kahn gave me straight answers to my questions and told me what to expect. In the end my recovery was exactly as he predicted.

Dr. Kahn made me feel at ease straight away. In fact his manner was so engaging that I felt I should wait to submit my review to see if, indeed, his personality could be, somehow, a reflection of his expertise. It was. He operated at the end of November, 2015. My recovery was surprisingly quick, my pain [from radiation-induced adhesions and, by chance, appendicitis] was gone and has remained so. It is now May of 2017. Every day I thank my lucky stars I met this man. Thanks, Dr. Kahn.

I recently had surgery conducted by Dr. Khan for dual-hernia repair. When I first met with Dr. Khan he explained very clearly what would take place before, during, and after he surgery. A few weeks later Dr.Khan and his team performed the successful surgery and I am now in week three getting stronger every day. No one likes surgery, but I would strongly recommend considering Dr. Khan if faced with surgery. He is very straightforward and professional with a warm personality.

Dr Khan is a wonderful surgeon. I went to the emergency room with severe pain in my belly. It turned out to be my apendix. From the moment I met him he calmed my family and me and quickly took me to the operating room. My recovery was nearly painless I can not say enough good things about him

Dr. Kahn performed the removal of my father's gallbladder today. Because his gallbladder was inflamed and large stones, it unfortunately turned out it could not be done laparoscopically when Dr. Kahn was operating. Despite being cut open, my father had minimal pain after and Dr. Kahn made him feel at ease, me as well! I 100% trusted my father was in great hands. Dr. Kahn is a very nice guy who is easygoing as well. I highly recommend Dr. Kahn to any person needing surgery!
