Dr. Attilio Avino Jr, DPM

Before Dr. Avino, I had wasted my time on 2 other podiatrists who only treated the surface symptoms of my foot problem and did not try to find the root cause. Not only did Dr. Avino get to the root cause of the problem, he was impressively thorough, making sure that before he took a step, checking first that I would be an appropriate candidate so there would be no complications. He had a lab check for cancer to be on the safe side. He is very personable, and interested in you as an individual personality, and fun to talk to. He gives plenty of information and advice. Dr. Avino has it all--the medical knowhow, desire to cure, thoroughness, caring and interest in the patient, and excellent bedside manner. If it were possible to give him more than 5 stars, I would, so I would have to say that Dr. Avino is off the chart.

I was experiencing pain in the arch and heel of my right foot. The pain was sometimes be so bad that I would have to sit down for several minutes. I thought that the pain would get better with time; but it didn't. I went on the internet to look for a podiatrist near my home. I called 3 of them and I was told that the earliest I could be seen was anywhere from 3 weeks to a month from now. I finally found Foot and Ankle clinic Dr Avino in the Aiea Medical bldg. I was able to see him 3 days after I made my call.I met Dr Avino and found him to be friendly and knowledgeable. I told him my symptoms and he told me that I had plantar fasciitis. He brought in a small ultrasound machine in the room and put it next to my foot. He showed me the fasciitis on the ultrasound screen. He assured me that he could fix the problem. He showed me several stretches to do several time a day. It worked; my foot felt better in about 1 week. I am so happy that I went to see him. No more pain.

Very informative. Sent multiple patients to him…coworkers, relatives, friends. Procedures, exams, options, were discussed. All had issues resolved. Met dr. At a diabetic convention where he was volunteering for 2plus years.

Went to see Dr. Avino at the end of March (2022) for painful burning neuropathy in my feet. I was told, at that time, that I would be referred to a pain management doctor who may be able to help me. It is now the middle of July and I have not received the referral. When I called today, July 7, about the status of the referral the person I talked to said that there was nothing in his notes regarding a referral. She said that she would have to check with the Dr. I am hoping that she does that and that there is follow through this time. If so, I would be happy to change my recommendation of Dr. Avino. If not 1 star out of 5, just for seeing me, is about the best I can do for this doc.

Dr. Avino's approach was to check possible cause of my swelling. We had an Ultra-sound and determined that my circulation was fine, so we discuss diet and determined that my heavy red meat diet may be part of the problem. He looks for cause and solutions and does not try to keep me coming back.

Horrible experience with this terrible doctor. He He didn't listen to my concerns and treated me improperly. DO NOT go to this doctor. If you can avoid him, do it.
