Dr. Merchant is my son's doctor. Because of his disabilities it is necessary for me to be in attendance during his meetings with her. I have seen nothing but sensitive and gentle interactions between the two of them. She is very accommodating with scheduling. I am very pleased to have my son in her care.

This evil woman dropped me as a patient while I was hospitalized in UT for mental illness. She's lazy and completely ignorant.

Not really sure where this negativity is coming from. I was originally with Dr. Michael Fischer, but stayed with the practice when he retired. She has done nothing but help me continue to heal and though some rough weather. I feel she genuinely cares for her patients, is there like an evil clone of her I am not aware of. She is a good psychiatrist, and I would put her up against anyone else practicing in the region.

an intelligent well-learned professional
I am with Dr. Merchant since Dr. Fisher retired and left her his practice. I am quite happy with her and am surprised to find negative reviews on this site. She is competent and keeps up with new developments in the field. She is very intelligent, and once you are an established patient, she provides appointments on the telephone. I find her very caring.

Horrible experience! My son’s psychiatrist retired and sent him to Dr. Merchant. In the first 6 months she weened him off of the meds he had been on for years. She added a medication that prevented him from sleeping. It was disastrous!!

Merchant is a substandard psychiatrist. I only saw her twice but it apparent she’s full of herself and overall doesn’t have caring doctor skills. Don’t waste time bothering to see any doctor who acts as if she can’t be bothered or really listens. Merchant writes whatever her arrogant attitude wants so she was absolutely no help to me. I was told she’s not that good but I know that for sure. They messed up all my paperwork too. It’s as if she is clueless.
