Dr. Audrey Puentes, MD

I was told this office only accept 4 medicaid patients a month so I'd have to wait 2 months to be seen first visit. Id be 19 weeks, almost halfway through the pregnancy. I agreed because I wanted to deliver at Presbyterian Hospital and this provider was next door. The morning of my appointment I get called and told the Dr had an emergency delivery and I was to be rescheduled. But then told it would be ANOTHER 1-2 MONTHS! before they could see me! I told them I had already waited 2 months for this plus taken off work. Was told that's how their office works. I have no idea why me stepping aside for an emergency, which I understand that can happen and am okay with it, made it where I couldn't still be seen today and why I was put at the END of the waiting list for current dr. Was so upset the entire day and cried alot because this was 1st time to see my baby and know they were okay or not and learn gender. Was major red flag before I got in the door that office does not care.

I was in need of a new OB that accepts medicaid and when I called to make my appointment I was told that Dr Puentes could see me in 3 weeks. 1 week before my appointment they called me to tell me they made a mistake scheduling me because Dr Puentes can only see so many medicaid patients in a month, and now she couldn't see me for another 2 months!!! I had to scramble to find a different doctor. It was very stressful and I would not recommend USMD to anyone!

We saw Dr. Puentes for our pregnancy and delivery of our firstborn son. My husband and I would readily reccomend Dr. Puentes-- she knows her stuff and likes what she does. She regularly spent all the time she could afford with us-- we never felt rushed-- and she kept our emotions level whenever we got needlessly scared. Her staff--their knowledge and bright personalities--also gave us positive experiences at each visit. We'll really miss working with them now that our son is here.

I always had to wait a very long time to see the doctor. And when I called about a drug reaction, I was dismissed and the office never even called me back. Very disappointed.
