Too aggressive with diagnosis and medication
I saw Dr. Imus for a couple of years, during which he prescribed me heavy mood stabilizers and got me completely dependent on enough Clonopin to sedate a small horse. Only after extensive counseling was I correctly diagnosed with depression and PTSD, where Imus had me taking meds for bipolar disorder. He also told me that if I went off of my meds to try an antidepressant I would be an unfit mother. I think given my circumstance he managed to drug me up enough I didn’t care much, but I wouldn’t recommend him to anyone.

I’ve three times to contact he doctor by phone even as my PCP sent a referral as he requested. His message sets to leave information for an initial consultation. Very frustrating. Might say something of his professionalism

I've seen several good psychiatrists over the years, but Dr. Imus is far and away the best. He understands all my medical conditions, including a couple of rare conditions. He cares about my health and my treatment goals. He treats me like a partner in the healing process. He is holistic in the true sense of the word. I'm very happy with my decision to see him over other providers who live much closer to me.
