Dr. Avantika Patel, MD

After having Dr. Patel as our PCP for several years, my husband and I have decided to switch doctors in the same practice. My husband showed her a spot in his face that he was concerned about. She told him to ‘rub lotion on it’. 18 months later, he had a hole the size of a half dollar cut all the way to his cheekbone because of the invasive and aggressive squamous cell skin cancer. I suffer from debilitating joint pain. For two years she has poo pooed my symptoms and pain. Finally saw a rheumatologist and I have been diagnosed with a rare autoimmune arthritis. She doesn’t listen and, quite frankly, I don’t believe she cares. It’s in and out and done.

Tele-health visit with Dr. Patel on March 1, 2021. She listened patiently and we discussed appropriate courses of action. She was very thorough with her questions, and carefully explained her recommendations for treatment and follow-up. I would highly recommend her.

This doctor has no professionalism and is very cocky on the call. After the lab visit, she was supposed to prescribe refills for the next three months but she doesn’t do it and says I need to see her again. It was so frustrating to work with her that I ended up switching doctors.

I am not use to do any review until I have to do since I have been seen and been taken care of my family physician, Dr. Patel, who is always smiling with a energetic attitude, a well care, listen and educate related to my health. So, I have been learned more thing to care by myself which from her motivation toward to me. I am not sure how to recommend Dr. Patel to every one but for sure to my directed family and closed relative. If you do then I am certain you will find out your own enjoyment with Dr. Patel.

I have been to Dr Patel a couple times. I would not recommend her and will not go back. Very bad experience!

Best dr I have ever had. She spends time listening to your concerns. Does not over medicate with meds. Easy to talk with. Very satisfied to have her as my primary doctor.

1st visit w/ Dr. Patel was in Jan. of 2018 to establish her as my new PCP. I am a youngish pt w/ many surgeries & chronic conditions for the past 8 yrs. She spent the majority of our time pushing the flu vaccine. I filled out my release of records for my past docs, so that she could have my records for our follow up in March. 2nd visit, she had not reviewed any of my records and kept complaining about all the medications I was on; "bc wiser docs that have known me for yrs prescribed them, ma'am.

Dr. Patel spent a long time with me and I am very pleased with having her as my primary care physician. She reviewed all my past medical history, addressed all of my healthcare concerns and helped me establish a successful Kaiser relationship. I would recommend Dr. Patel to anyone--especially woman.

She is OK..one good thing is she does not push or perform unnecessary medicines, treatments or tests. Also each person is different when it comes to their demeanor which shouldn't mean that they are rude..it's just a personality thing...her mannerisms might give this impression the first time you see her but I think on subsequent visits a better comfortable relationship can be established..so if her treatment works for you mannerisms shouldn't be a deterrent.

Dr. Patel is very thorough and will work with you to determine the best possible treatment. I really value this approach as I feel it is more personal and not the 'cookie cutter' approach that I have experienced with other doctors.

I oversee the care of my mother whom has been Dr. Avantika Patel's patient for nearly 2 yrs. I am present at all appts. My mother has been taking the same meds. for many years for her conditions prior to being a patient with Dr. Patel. She rolls her eyes, seems to try to amuse and pacify us, rather than truly caring for the greater good of her patients. My mother has had ongoing symptoms for over 7 months without testing, trying to seek a diagnosis. Her staff is friendly and caring.

Don't normally post reviews of Dr's, but I had to with this particular one. Very poor bedside manner. She interrupts your questions and seems very rushed to get you out of the office. Poor at explaining my test results and further treatment options. I do not recommend her.
